The 2022 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at the Spring Fling state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our preseason Top 10 in each TSSAA classification and the preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Our team will be providing boots on the ground coverage, scouting games and highlighting the Volunteer State's talent. This season we will be releasing players of the week, updating our classification rankings, and the Power 25. Feel free to give us a follow on Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date on all the latest baseball news.

*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches.

Team Outlook
The Bulldogs put together a strong season in 2021, winning 22 games and the AA district 13 regular season title. However, it’s safe to say the end results were disappointing for the program as they failed to make it to regions. The program has been stuck in a very competitive district as the odd man out after making sub-state in 2017 and the state tournament in 2016. They return some pitching depth including Sr ace Jacob Sitton, who racked up 62 Ks in 48 IP last season while earning district pitcher of the year honors. Sitton will be the tone setter and will give the Bulldogs a chance every time he gets the ball. 2023 RHP/UTL Carter Milligan got district starts in ‘21 and should be a nice counterpart to Sitton as well as provide defensive versatility. Seniors MINF Eli Belew and CF/MINF Will Dobbs will help anchor the middle as impact well-rounded veterans along with Jr UTL/RHP Easton Yates. 2023 C Taylor Hill will slot as the primary backstop and OF Grayson Stuckey will roam the outfield after a strong finish in 2021. Bulldogs have a trio of arms that will push for innings and round out the staff. Sr LHP Hudson Hooker was returning off shoulder injury last year, but looks to return to form and find his early success again. Lanky RHP Adam Wright (2023) has had limited time on the bump, but flashes big upside in his 6-6 frame. Jr. RHP/1B John Carter is another towering arm that should contribute and plug time at first base. Upperclassmen heavy, but a few young bucks who could get in the mix: RHP/CINF Rye Maxwell (2024), UTL/RHP Gabe Scott (2024), LHP Colin Milligan (2025), and C Kasen Yates (2025).

Milan and Westview held the top two district spots last year, and they’ll welcome three new faces to the district (Gibson Co, Huntingdon, & Union City all move up from 1A). They played most of these clubs the past year, but I’d expect the top to be a battle between Milan and Westview. A region appearance will be the first goal, but the Bulldogs seem primed to make a deep postseason push in the new look 2A.
