Tennessee Team of the Week: Sevier County Smoky Bears

It’s hard to have a Team of the Week award without acknowledging the hottest team in the state.

Sevier County hasn’t lost in nearly a month, having reeled off 15 straight wins to run their record to 17-1-1 on the season. The Smoky Bears pitching has been outstanding, allowing three runs or less in 13 of their games this spring. And it’s not like the offense hasn’t done its part either as they have put up seven runs or more in 12 games. It’s been a recipe for success so far this season.

Last week, Sevier County began the week with a pair of district wins over Jefferson County. They concluded the week on Friday with a 5-2 win over Hardin Valley.

The Smoky Bears return to action today with a 4:30 PM game against Maryville. For their performance on the field last week, the Sevier County Smoky Bears have been selected as the PBR Tennessee Team of the Week for the week of March 30-April 4.
