QuIck Hits
+ 2020 RHP/SS Gray Harrison (Westlake HS) was a standout this summer at the PBR Texas Limited Series Tournament, and the South Texas Underclass Games. On Sunday, Harrison continued to impress, pitching at 85-86 from a high slot with a relatively loose arm swing. His curveball has tight rotation and drops off the table with 12/6 rotation at 71-72. Also worth mentioning, he ran a 7.12 60-yard dash and threw 90 mph across the infield.
+ University of Pittsburgh commit, 2021 C Christopher Bernal (McAllen HS) posted some of the top pop times of day with an ultra-fast exchange (1.93, 1.94, 1.94, 2.01, and 2.08). The right-handed hitter has good energy in his hack with loose hands and rhythm, he posted an exit velocity of 94 mph.
+ 2020 C Scott Siebenthall (King HS) is a young backstop that should soon start to turn the heads of college coaches. At 6-foot, 170-pounds, Siebenthall is not done developing physically and has large, strong hands. The right-handed hitter has loose hands and rhythm at the plate, he made hard contact in the middle of the field.
+ Really like the way 2021 SS Luke Smith (Calallen HS) moves on the infield. He has a quick first step, plays through the ball with rhythm, has quick-soft hands, and an elbow dominant arm stroke. The ball sticks in his glove and everything happens in the mid-line of his body. Smith also ran a 7.14 60-time.
+ 2020 SS Parker Tennill (Calallen HS) has a projectable frame at 6-foot-1, 184-pounds. The right-handed hitter showed strength at the plate during BP with hard contact and lift from a tall setup. Although he worked out in the outfield, Tennil looks good on the infield, showing the kind of actions that stand out for a bigger kid. The overall measurable do not jump off the page, but the actions and swing make him a player to follow.
+ 2020 RHP Derek Saenz (King HS) had the best fastball velocity of the day, topping out once at 89 mph. Working from a high slot, he pitched at 86-87 mph with tilt. Although his curveball was inconsistent at 75-78, he did flash one with sharp break at 74 mph from the stretch. Mixed in a 78-80 mph changeup.
+ Another standout from earlier this summer is 2020 RHP Oscar Zepeda (Incarnate Word Academy). The right-hander has a clean arm swing from a ¾-ish slot, with a short circle and elbow dominant arm action. Fastball shows life at 82-84, slider has good 10/4 shape at 72-73, and he has feel for a changeup with arm side fade at 77-78. We have seen Zepeda up to 86 this summer, and the pitchability is already there.
+ 2019 OF/RHP Hunter Nevilles (Calallen HS) has quick hands at the plate and took a solid round of batting practice with a simple, balanced approach, short, clean path through contact, and an exit velocity of 88 mph. He threw with carry from the outfield, and was up to 85 mph on the mound.
