Inside the 2023 Rankings - RHP

Phil Haig
Texas Scouting Director

There has never been a shortage of big arms coming from the state of Texas and the 2023 class follows suit. Today we take a look at a group of projectable right handed arms that make up the deep class. We are excited to follow along with all of the prospects we have already seen, and look forward to seeing many more that will soon make jumps and work their way into future rankings. Here is a quick glance at the top 10 RHP from the 2023 Class.

Travis Sykora has a frame and an arm to dream on. Standing 6-foot-6 and 210 pounds, he is used more in short stints right now due to him playing shortstop as well but in his short outings, he has ran the FB up to 93 and shown a CH and SL that will flash quality when they are right. Weston Moss is another athletic, loose arm that projects well down the road. Moss currently gets downhill on the FB and spins a quality breaking ball that spins right and will only continue to get better as he develops as a pitcher. Diego Luzardo might have the best breaking ball in the class when its right and its only getting better each time our staff has seen him. Luzardo has continued to make velocity jumps and look for plenty more to come down the road. Logan Simmons is another strong frame right hander that shows a lot to like about him now and plenty more to like down the road. Simmons has shown feel for 3 pitches with a fastball that has tilt when down and a quality CH that plays off it well.
