Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week: Week 2

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 2 (February 26-March 3).
MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Adrian Rodriguez 3B / OF / Flower Mound, TX / 2024Rodriguez was on fire this past weekend at the Prep Baseball Texas Invitational. The Switch Hitting 1B/3B had 9 hits in 18 at bats and drove in 13 for the #1 Flower Mound Jaguars. He had 2 home runs, including a grand slam. He is a key piece in the heart of that lineup and looks to continue a big season.

The McLennan recruit was nothing short of dominant on Friday night at the Prep Baseball Texas Invitational for the Mustangs. He had 13 Ks in 7 innings against a good lineup. He pitched out of a few jams that were caused by errors. He has a bulldog mentality on the bump and it is fun to watch. The FB was 89-91 T92 and got a lot of swing and miss in the zone. The CB was sharp at 73-75 with good shape. He didn’t use the CH much but it was around 80 with some fade. He does a good job keeping his arm speed up on both secondaries. One of the top LHP’s in North TX.
