Throughout Wednesday, July 26-Saturday, July 30, 2023 Prep Baseball Report Future Games were held in Emerson, Georgia at our LakePoint Sports Complex. For this event the various PBR staffs from around the country selected the best uncommitted rising juniors and sophomores to form teams to represent their state or region in the event, bringing well over 450 of the best uncommitted players in the United States and Canada to one four field quad for 4 days.

For this event, players from Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and DC were selected to form Team Mid-Atlantic. Players on Team Mid-Atlantic had a position player showcase workout on Wednesday and then played in three games, one per day, Thursday-Saturday, going 1-1-1 against Team Florida, Team Carolinas, and Team California. Scouts from all 30 MLB teams and well over 350 college coaches were in attendance.

Burton's Analysis

Julius Bagnerise SS / 2B / Colgan, VA / 2025

The left handed hitting shortstop leaves a lot to dream on for schools. At the plate he shows quick hands and bat speed to go along with sneaky juice from that side. Defensively, Bagnerise is an adequate defender at short, but arm strength could push him to second, depending on where he lands. Average arm strength, accurate across, and can throw on the run. The internal clock is there, but could use a tick up in arm strength to stick at short if playing at a high level. Regardless, there is twitch in his actions, the feet and hands work, and he can stay up the middle in some capacity. He is pretty patient at the plate and keeps it pretty tight with zone discipline. Would like to see him a touch more aggressive early in counts, especially with the sneaky power he has, he has the ability to ambush some fastballs early on. 6.61 runner.
