Unsigned Senior Showcase Spotlight: Downers Grove North's Ryan Andrews

The Prep Baseball Report Unsigned Senior Showcase at the Max in McCook, IL will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2014. The open showcase is geared towards all uncommitted 2015 graduates, and will include several area colleges in attendance. Nearly 70 schools were in attendance at last year’s event, and we expect a similar number at this year’s event.

Downers Grove North’s right-handed hurler Ryan Andrews impressed in early August at the Chicagoland Open showing advanced feel for a three pitch repertoire.

Ryan Andrews Scouting Report
6-foot-3, 180-pound right-handed pitcher works from a long, loose, high ¾ arm slot delivering sinking two-seam fastballs in the 78-80 mph range, touching 83 mph on his final pitch. Easy effort in delivery, slide steps from stretch occasionally, shoulders stay level throughout delivery, loads lower half over rubber, breaks hands early, lands square staying in line with home plate with stride direction. Showed feel for strikes of 62-65 mph curveball with 11/5 shape. Also showed some feel for sinking 71-72 mph changeup that he gets underneath at times.
