Wisconsin 2015 Rankings Update: Biggest Risers

By Steve Nielsen
Scouting Supervisor – Wisconsin/Illinois

On Monday we updated Wisconsin’s 2015 player rankings and expanded the list to 150. For more on our updated 2015 rankings you can read the release story here.

Today we will look at some of the top risers in the 2015 rankings and a quick snapshot of why they rose in the rankings.

RHP Bryant Jordan (Homeschool, Missouri) took over the top spot in the state while SS Owen Miller (Ozaukee, Illinois State) jumped to No. 2. Both showed extremely well at this year’s Super 60 Pro Showcase and continue to make strides in the right direction.

RHP Jacob Kopp (West Bend West, Uncommitted) saw his stock rise almost 40 spots after back to back performances at the Unsigned Senior Showcase and the Milwaukee Preseason I.D. Kopp brings a power fastball that can reach 89 mph and quality secondary stuff to go with it.

SS Sam Swan (Arrowhead) recently made his commitment to in-state Division 1 UW-Milwaukee. Swan is coming back from a knee injury that kept him out a majority of last year and should be a big contributor to one of the top teams in the state as he also made his way into the top 50.

Catchers Adam Cibulka (Grafton, McKendree) and Mike Bauer (Arrowhead, McHenry County JC) both had productive winters and jumped over 30 spots each. Both have shown a strong knack for receiving the baseball and have well above average catch and throw skills.

Eau Claire North OF Nate Sorenson is an athletic outfielder who is still uncommitted and returning off of an all-conference season for the Huskies. Sorenson moved into the top 100 for the first time.
