The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 INF/OF Kaij Ordaz from Mater Dei Catholic in San Diego area. A physical 6'1 192 lbs corner profile offensive performer who is trending up in the '25 class. With a wide stance and a medium leg kick in his load once Ordaz gets into the launch position he shows good offensive ability across his batted ball data and swing metrics. He has shown exit velocities up to 98 MPH while averaging 89.8 MPH for Prep Baseball California staff with lift in his path Ordaz works a middle to pull side power approach where he shows HR power. The swing itself is quick with 71.2 MPH of bat speed and he does a good job of sequencing well to create torque 20.2 G's of rotational acceleration into quick hands at 23.2 MPH. His profile is carried by the strong potential in his bat which has middle of the order potential and Ordaz has performed well on the San Diego High School circuit. Defensively, he shows potential to stick at 3B where his feet work, hands are solid and the arm strength shows potential, as does his actions to play LF in the OF. But, Ordaz will need to continue to improve his overall athleticism to remain long term at 3B/LF or would need a move to 1B, although his bat potential can handle the move with his offensive impact. Ordaz is a good offensive piece for college coaches to keep eyes on in the '25 recruiting class.
