5280 SPOTLIGHT

Talented Kyle Barkley is one of Colorado's top 2022's uncommitted players.  RHH with Strength.  Demonstrated ability to hit for AVG and use all fields.  Creates separation in hands and has strong rear side acceleration.  Playing 1B for Cherry Creek HS.  Great instincts for the game.  As a developing RHP,  Kyle sits at 84-86. Still developing as a 2WAY Player.

6’2” 190  Front step transitions to pivot. Waist high leg lift with coil, slight weight transfer forward.  Tall to Fall delivery with open toe stride. Good push through on stride. Short back side arc and quick loose arm to follow through.  High ¾ release with aggressive motion. FB 82-83 Some arm side run on FB CB/SL has a 11/5 action with gradual break. CH 72 Good extension and feel and in zone   Lots of potential for Kyle. Project an gradual progression in Velo. Solid 2 Way player to Follow!

Hit: RHH   Open stance, Shoulder width. Glide leg lift to stride and gets to a 50/50 weight distribution at launch.  Some hip slide. Hands start high and stay high for load. Arm angles create some length.  Creates linear movement to launch with late rear side acceleration. Hands have direct path to contact with high finish.  Demonstrated quickness and strength. Middle of field to pull side tendency. Great feel for barrel contact. Exit Velo 90.   2 Way Player to Follow
Power:  Yes, can see future development and swing refines.  Will benefit with rear side acceleration. 
Arm: INF Velo:  78 Quick Short arc to long finish.  Accurate and confident arm action
Defense:  Good 1st step.  Fields ball deep in stance, with quick gather. Creates momentum to throw with easy shuffle. 3B/1B type with plus hands

Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 170 pounds. Bats and throws right. Strong for his age and still growing into body. Starts with balanced, tall open stance. Slow load back, and soft stride. Quiet head. Swing path is level through zone, good extension through the baseball with high, bottom hand finish. Very good live round with hard line drives gap to gap. Ball jumps off bat. Does a good job hitting where ball is pitched. Produced a 84 mph exit velocity. In the field showed good range to both sides, especially glove hand side. Fields ball out front with good glove to hand exchange. Was 74 mph across the diamond.

5-foot-9, 140-pound right hand hitting SS/3B who ran a 7.80 60. At the plate he stands open with a long stride to come square.  Lower half is solid through the zone creating good pull side power.  Swing is long with extension out front.  Exit velocity was 80 mph. In the field he comes through the ball and stays square on his delivery.  Soft hands and a quick transfer. Arm is accurate to the bag. Arm velocity was 75 mph.
