On August 5th and 6th PBR Colorado hosted their 4th annual Top Prospect Games at historic Cherry Creek High School. 70 prospects from the 2019-2021 classes showed up for the two day event that featured both a pro-style workout and games each day. The other day we started with the Catchers Analysis, then Corners and Outfielders, and Middle Infielders. Today we look at the pitcher only's.

Cole Adams 2B / RHP / Rock Canyon, CO / 2019

A 5-foot-11,145-pound right hand pitcher.  On the mound he has smooth mechanics and delivery to the plate.  From balance he drives hard t the plate and throws off two feet.  Arm delivers from a high ¾ slot and maintains the same speed on all pitches.  Follow through keeps him in-line with the plate.  Fastball was 77 MPH at the TPG and he showed good fastball command both in and out on hitters.  He added a 64 MPH curve with late 11/5 break and a 67 MPH change that worked well down and away in the zone.

Ryan Collins LHP / 1B / Broomfield, CO / 2020

A 6-foot-7, 165-pound left hand pitcher.  On the mound he is a big and tall presence.  As he continues to fill out, velocity should go up.  From balance he falls to the plate and uses his long legs to close ground.  Arm slot is ¾ and seems to drag behind his body a bit.  Fastball was 75 MPH with late run away from the hitter.  He should good command of both sides of the plate.  He uses a 65 MPH slider with good back door action to keep the hitters off balance.

Ryan Koschik RHP / 3B / Highlands Ranch HS, CO / 2021

A 5-foot-10, 137-pound right hand pitcher.  On the mound he showed good awareness and presence for a 2021.  Mechanics are sound and time will help him grow and improve velocity.  He showed a good three pitch mix delivering from a high ¾ arm slot.  Lower half lands in-line with the plate and arm speed stays up on all pitches.  He featured a 70 MPH fastball with good location away from the right hand hitter.  He added a 63 MPH curve with sweeping 11/5 break and snuck in a 60 MPH change on several hitters during the TPG.

Tyler Lukins RHP / Ponderosa, CO / 2019

A 6-foot-4, 160-pound right hand pitcher.  On the mound he stands tall and covers good ground to the plate.  From balance he drives hard to the plate and stays on-line during the delivery.  He delivers from a high ¾ arm slot and showed good command during the TPG.  Fastball was consistently 80 MPH and he showed the ability to work both sides of the plate.  Arm speed stays up on his off-speed pitch giving him a nice two pitch mix.  Curve was 64 MPH with late 11/5 break and down in the zone.

Cole Martino RHP / 3B / Pueblo County High School, CO / 2021

A 5-foot-11, 183-pound right hand pitcher.  Smooth mechanics and arm action on the mound.  From balance he falls to the plate and stays on two feet during the pitch.  He throws from an over the top arm slot and falls across his body on the follow through. Velocity should increase as he grows and drives to the plate.  During the TPG he showcased an 80 MPH fastball which he located well away from the right hand hitter.  He was able to mix in a 65 MPH curve with 11/5 break consistently for a strike which made his fastball more effective.

J.T. Miller RHP / OF / Regis Jesuit High School, CO / 2020

A 6-foot-3, 175-pound right hand pitcher.  On the mound he starts at a 45 and his rocker step comes forward before going to balance.  At balance he has slight sink and then drives hard to the plate.  Arm is over the top and delivery stays in-line with the plate.  Follow through takes him to first base.  He featured an 81 MPH fastball with late run.  Location was good all day at the TPG.  He added a 68 MPH curve with sharp 11/5 break.  This pitch started in the middle of the plate and moved hard away from the hitter.

Tyler Richardson LHP / 1B / Elizabeth , CO / 2019

A 6-foot-1, 160-pound left hand pitcher.  On the mound he uses a high balance position and a sink and drive motion to deliver an 83 MPH fastball.  There are a few pauses in his motion that allow for his body to come forward and land in-line with the plate.  He has a quick arm and shows good extension out front on his delivery.  Fastball location was down in the zone and lived on the outer half.  He also added a 64 MPH curve that dove hard in on the right hand hitter’s hands.  It was a very effective two pitch mix in the TPG.
