High School: Kapolei High School
Coach: Dirk Fujii
HHSAA Classification: Division II
Conference: Oahu West
2023 Record: 2-10

Returning Strengths/Players: '24 SS Colt Fujii SS (Uncommitted) put together a strong preseason, batting .474 with 8 RBI while holding down the shortstop position.

Beyond his offensive production and value at the shortstop position, Fujii will also be utilized as an arm this year for the Hurricanes. '24 UTL Jonah Fuentes (Uncommitted) also impressed with his bat during the preseason, batting .316 with 7 RBI out of the three-hole. Similar to Fujii, Fuentes will also provide two-way abilities this upcoming season. '24 INF Cameron Fuentes (Uncommitted) is another returning two-way talent for Kapolei who will hold down the hot corner.

Potential Impact Players: '25 LHP/OF Ekolu Kamaile (Uncommitted) is a tall, lanky left-hander with high upside and has also been showing well at the plate, batting .385 through the preseason. '25 OF Tama Amisone (Uncommitted) is an athletic QB for Kapolei and hasn't played baseball in a few years but the coaching staff says his game is coming around well and has been a nice surprise this spring, both at the plate and in the outfield. '25 RHP Brock Pamatigan (Uncommitted) has been the Hurricanes go-to arm during the preseason and has good movement to his fastball with good command of the strike zone.

Top Uncommitted Upperclass: '24 UTL Jonah Fuentes (5-8/150lbs; R/R), high energy player with good work ethic and racks up the hours in the gym. Shows great commitment and effort every time he takes the field for a game or practice. '24 INF Cameron Fuentes (5-8/150lbs;R/R), similar to his brother just mentioned, Cameron's work ethic and willingness to put in the extra work have him primed for a strong senior season. '24 MIF Colt Fujii (5-9/150lbs; S/R), good hands and feet on the infield with smooth actions and shows the ability to swing it well from both sides of the plate. Plenty of upside in his game as he grows and fills out. High baseball IQ and also a hard worker. '24 C/1B Jurrell Ranada (5-10/180lbs; R/R) is a power hitting catcher that will be relied upon both offensively, defensively and through his leadership.

Top Uncommitted Underclass: '25 RHP Brock Pamatigan has good characteristics to his fastball with the ability to command it and should gain more velocity as he gets stronger. '25 LHP/OF Ekolu Kamaile has a long, fluid delivery with projection as he continues to fill out his 6-foot-1 frame. Crafty left-hander who should be a major part of the teams pitching staff this season.

The season gets underway for Kapolei on Friday and will be a Division II team for our staff to keep tabs on as the season continues to roll along as the Hurricanes field a strong crop of upperclassmen who will provide the team with plenty of experience.
