ROSTER PREVIEW

Like last year, this event’s roster is shaping up nicely, and we’re going to meet a handful of players for the first time on Tuesday.

An uncommitted soon-to-be senior that's headed to Schaumburg next week is SS/RHP Brendan Campbell (Bartlett, 2024). Campbell had a strong spring season at Bartlett on both sides of the diamond. At 6-foot-4, 210-pounds, Campbell finished the spring with a slash line of .360/.416/.518 with 13 extra-base hits, and also threw 33.2 innings on the mound to go along with a 2.70 ERA and 38 strikeouts. Campbell has showcased advanced bat speed and a powerful swing, evident by a 94.2 mph peak exit velocity at the Lockport Preseason ID this past winter, and he’s been up to 87 mph on the mound this summer, too.

RHP Peter Thompson (Loyola Academy, 2025) is a name that’s impressed on the brief summer circuit and one that we’ve heard positive things about coming out of Georgia.  The 6-foot-4, 170-pound Thompson was 87-88 mph on his fastball with late life at LakePoint in June. Thompson also features a sharp curveball at 69-70, and effectively mixes in a swing-and-miss slider at 72-73.
