Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Will LaRue, OF, Evansville Mater Dei

Will LaRue is today's Unsigned Senior Spotlight.  LaRue , ranked No. 49 in Indiana's 2014 class, attended the PBR Indiana 18U Nationals Showcase at Victory Field in July where he impressed with his athleticism and speed.  

The 5-foot-11, 170 pound unsigned senior ran a 6.62 60.  From the OF he showed solid defensive actions with smooth footwork.  His arm was loose and threw from a high 3/4 arm slot at 78 mph with some carry.He projects well as a left fielder at the next level.

LaRue is a switch hitter at the plate, but projects more from the right side.  From the right side he starts slightly open while using a short stride with a slight leg kick.  The hands start high by his back ear with a high back elbow.  He showcased present bat speed while consistently barreling up the baseball.
