Team Preview: Num.13 Tupelo

The Mississippi high school season kicks off on February 26, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 29, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.
Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.
We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. Outlook
Coming in at Num. 13 in our Preseason Power25 is the Tupelo Golden Wave. Returning four position players and three pitchers that saw action last season on a 22 win team, Coach Justin Reed has high expectations for this group. With a talented group of underclassmen leading the charge for the Golden Wave, they will be looking to senior C Bryant Morgan to provide the leadership and control the pitching staff. Sophomores Peyton Puckett, Mack Scruggs and Trip Wilson will be a big piece to the offensive production of the lineup this season while Hunter Elliot leads the charge on the mound. Although the roster is filled with youthfulness, the level of talent of the roster should lead to a successful season for the Tupelo Golden Wave.
