Season Outlook
After narrowly missing the state tournament in 2016 and losing 12 of 15 games by two or less runs, the Coweta Tigers are poised to make another run at a state championship this spring. The Tigers will not lack in depth, returning seven starting position players and five arms that threw for more than 15 innings a piece a season ago. Two of the returners, Braden Calico and Casey Foster, were named to the All-District team, while six of their returning teammates received honorable mention nods.  In a talented 5A class, Coweta looks to be one of the front runners.

On the mound, four right-handed seniors will combine for one of the deeper rotations in the state. Casey Foster, Dylan Kuester, Jordan Waller, and Ryan Summers all return after significant innings on the mound in their junior campaigns. Foster will likely anchor the staff, but all four posses the ability to shut down most offences on any given night.

Offensively, Braden Calico will return to the middle of the order after a very good offensive year as a junior. Seniors J.T. Goodfellow, Waller, and Branson Sheofee have continued their development and look to have big years as returning starters. Reid Stockman will look to act as the catalyst hitting in the lead-off position as a sophomore.

Defensively, like most good teams, Coweta will be strongest up the middle. Stockman and Ty Decker will man the middle infield together effectively. Goodfellow will likely handle the bulk of catching duties as a solid all around defender behind the dish. The athletic Calico will lead the way in the outfield. Junior Seth Marrujo will add versatility to the defense with the ability to play a multitude of positions.
