Along with the team previews, the 2015 Team Rankings will be releasing sometime late February and we hope to bring a Q&A session to discuss the rankings.

Also, we will be releasing the preseason All Ontario Teams sometime in early March.

  • Pitching
  • Able to hit and have quality at-bats
  • Team defence

Weaknesses of Team:

  • Depth of pitching will get thin the deeper the A’s get

Top Prospects in Class of 2017:

  • Matt Turino, 3B/2B, 5-foot-10, 175-pounds. Will be one of the top hitters in the 16u division of the M.E.L. Left-handed stick who sprays the ball to all fields. Added strength should be a plus. Middle of the order guy for the A’s.
  • Chris Papoutsidis, RHP/1B, 5-foot-10, 155-pounds, Jumped on to the pitching scene middle of last season. Arm is fresh with lots of innings in him. Deceptive fastball. Will also see time at first base.
  • Luke Hallarn, RHP/ CF, 5-foot-9, 150-pounds. Speedy outfielder who will also be counted upon on the mound. Mid-to-high 70s with fastball, curveball for strikes.
  • Michael MacDougall, RHP, 6-foot-3, 155-pounds, Mike is a tall, lean, lanky righty with a projectable pitchers body. Creates run from his ¾-arm slot on his fastball. Sits mid-70s right now with a curveball and changeup as his off-speed pitches. Will be asked to play a big role on the staff.
  • AJ Min, INF/C, 5-foot-9, 165-pounds, Versatile infielder who has started to take reps as a catcher. will also see time off the mound this year.

General Notes:

North Toronto and skipper Matthew Lethbridge expect another strong showing from the club this in the inaugural year of the Midget Elite League.

New comer Matt Turino will be asked to carry the load offensively, while the pitching staff and defence will decide if North Toronto can put together another season as they did last year. We expect them to right in the thick of things this year, competing for a league title.
