Scouting Report
6/14/17 5-foot-9, 150-pounder who pitches out of a three-quarter slot from an efficient delivery. Pitched to both sides of the plate with his fastball at 77-78. Fading change-up at 67-70 was thrown with fastball armspeed and he trusted it in down counts. Also incorporated a slider at 71-72 and a curveball at 61-62. Showed an ability to drop down sidearm with a fastball at 71-72 and 59 mph slider, both of which come out from behind a left-handed hitter. Left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and strides closed. Creates an armbar in his load, but repeated his swing and consistently barreled the baseball during his BP round. Ran a 7.37 60-yard dash and posted 78 mph exit velocity.
8/19/16 Red Lion Area 2018 LHP flashed advanced pitchability from a 3/4 arm slot. He commanded both sides of the plate while occasionally dropping down for an additional look at his fastball. Stabley also authored a 63 mph curveball with 1/7 rotation and an advanced changeup at 68 mph. The rising junior worked three effective innings allowing just two hits and no earned runs.
10/3/15 5-foot-7, 115-pound sophomore belies his size. The lefty sat 73-76 with arm-side run from a high 3/4 arm slot. Also displayed a drop down fastball with significant run. Stabley has a compact, simple delivery with a loose arm action and gets downhill well (81 mph from outfield). Also showcased a 63 mph curveball with 1/7 rotation and a 67 mph changeup at fastball arm speed. Stabley will be a definite follow in this class.
10/3/15 5-foot-7, 115-pound primary pitcher. Left-handed hitter starts from an open stance with a deep load and uses a leg lift stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a flat barrel path and above average balance with a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. Ran a 7.68 60-yard dash and showed the ability to play through the baseball defensively with an accurate 81 mph arm. Fundamentally sound two-way prospect will benefit moving forward from strength gains and physical maturity.
