Alderson-Broaddus Announces its 2013 Recruiting Class



The Alderson-Broaddus baseball team has announced the signing of five student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. Head Coach Luke Harrigan, now in his second season, has landed three quality players from Pennsylvania to fill out the five-player recruiting class. A-B is located in Philippi, West Virgnia where the Battlers compete in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. RandyRandy Dobnak, RHP/IF, South Park HS
Dobnak is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound RHP/IF from South Park HS. He was among the WPIAL leaders in several pitching categories in 2012. He sits 83-85 while topping out at 87mph with his fastball. Dobnak, ranked No. 85 in the Class of 2013, had a solid 2012 campaign finishing with a 5-0 record and a 2.19 ERA. 

McCarty
Blaise McCarty, RHP/3B, Riverside HS

McCarty is a 6-foot, 175-pound prospect who is likely to be the No. 1 starter for Riverside in 2013. Riverside HS is the defending Pennsylvania AA State Champions and will be attempting to win a third consecutive state title in 2013. McCarty has the makings of a two-way player at the next level. He tops out at 85mph from the mound with a 73mph curveball. McCarty runs a 7.28 60-yard dash and has showcased an 82mph bat exit speed. He compiled an 8-2 record and a 1.31 ERA in 2012 on his way to being named to the AA All-State Team. McCarty is ranked No. 96 in the Class of 2013.

GrashoffTyler Grashoff, LHP, Bethel Park HS
Grashoff is a 6-foot, 160-pound lefty who tops out at 82 mph with good movement and control of three pitches. He went 6-0 with a 1.45 era in 2012. Grashoff was named to the WPIAL All-Section team for his performance following his junior season. He is ranked No. 116 in the Class of 2013.
