QUICK HITS

'26 RHP/3B Nevin Day (Punxsutawney) stood a lengthy 6-foot-1, 185-pounds with elastic levers around the field. The primary right-handed pitcher filled up the zone with clean extension and more in the tank at 82-83, T84 mph. Also flashed the makings of an above-AVG CH with a sweeping CB across the plate.

A breakout candidate in his own right, '24 RHP Erik Streussnig (Plum) repeated the delivery with some life to the FB at 86-88 mph (2368). Stocky 6-foot, 170-pound frame that produced a tough 1-2 combo with a late breaker off the table.

Exit velocity leader, '25 OF Joe Safar (North Catholic) created advanced barrel-whip through the zone from a taller setup; T102 mph. An uber-projectable 6-foot-5, 210-pound frame gives him future chances at a corner IF position (1B) with budding pull-side power.

#PBRJFG22 participant and '26 SS/RHP Owen Beatrice (North Catholic) didn't need much effort to show off his plus athleticism. It's a twitchy operation that features easy hand-speed to impact. Backspun a few swings for distance to the LCF gap at T87 mph; plenty more to come.

We welcomed '25 RHP Dante Deloenobius (Shaler Area) to the class rankings after a loud performance and ability to really spin the baseball. Big time competitor on the mound with lightning quick arm and 2500+ on FB (84-86 mph). The CB was a real weapon with future out-pitch written all over it; 2880rpms and almost 20 inches of sweep.

Upside athlete '24 SS/OF Peyton Ford (Pine Richland) burst onto the scene with a much improved offensive skillset. The right-handed hitter posted a T94 mph exit velocity after sub-7.00 run, then went 89 mph positionally in what was one of our favorite looks of the weekend. Starting to get extremely comfortable the more reps he gets.
