Stock Report: 2014 OF/LHP Nathan Neiderhiser

NeiderhiserNathan Neiderhiser is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound OF/LHP from Bishop McCort HS who showed very well at several PBR events this summer.  He showcased his athleticism and his potential to be a two-way player at the next level. Neiderhiser ran a 7.25 60-yard dash, threw 84 mph from the outfield and showcased an 86 mph bat exit velocity.

The lefty has athletic movements in the outfield and his throws showed good carry. On the mound he tops at 82 mph with good arm side run. He also commands a 70 mph curveball and a 67 mph curveball. Neiderhiser is most impressive at the plate. The left-handed hitter has very quick hands and does an excellent job of driving the baseball to all fields. His hands stay inside the baseball and his lower half works well.

Neiderhiser helped the Crushers win the 2012 Class A State Championship. He finished the year hitting .389 with 23 RBI, and 12 extra base hits, including two home runs. Neiderhiser went 1-0 in seven appearances on the mound, six of which were in a relief role. With the graduation of staff ace Jesse Cooper who compiled 11 wins on the mound last season, Neiderhiser is likely to see more time in this role in his final two season at Bishop McCort.
