SS/RHP Alex Dirienzo had a solid showing in all facets of the game at the PA Top Prospect Games is June. The 6-foot, 180-pound righty sat 80-82 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with command of an 11/5 breaking 70 mph curveball during his work on the mound. Dirienzo displayed good hands and feet and athletic actions from his middle infield position with an 83 mph arm across the diamond. Offensively he squared the baseball consistently out of a slightly open stance going 3-for-7 with two doubles in game play.
Dirienzo is coming off a junior season in which he hit .328 with six doubles, a home run, 19 RBI and 21 runs scored. He will showcase his abilities at the Unsigned Senior Showcase on October 19 at B2B Baseball in Manheim, Pennsylvania. The event will provide talented uncommitted seniors from Pennsylvania and West Virginia the opportunity to perform for college coaches prior to the early signing period in November.
