Updated PA Class of 2015 Rankings

By Greg Williams
PA Director of Scouting

The updated Class of 2015 rankings have been released in advance of the start of the high school season that begins next month. Rankings will be updated next in June following the PA Top Prospect Games and the PA Underclass Games.

One year ago there was one player in the top 10 spots in the Class of 2015 rankings that had made a college commitment. As of today nine of the top 10, 21 of the top 25 and 31 total prospects in the class have made Division I commitments. This class continues to impress with its depth and the caliber of prospects at the top.

Shortstops continue to dominate the top of the rankings with three of the top four positions being filled by talented middle infielders. No. 1 Jonny Aiello (Germantown Academy), a Wake Forest commit, is also ranked No. 3 in the PBR combined rankings. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound switch-hitter is considered by many to be among the elite shortstops in this class nationwide. SS/RHP Kyle Datres (Loyalsock Township) at No. 2 and SS Travis Blankenhorn at No. 4 are also highly regarded prospects that are committed to North Carolina and Kentucky respectively.

With the exception of OF Jimmy Webb (No. 3, Loyalsock Township/Wake Forest), OF Jake McCarthy (No. 5, Scranton/Virginia) and C/3B Willie Burger (Lancaster Catholic/uncommitted), the remainder of the top 15 spots are filled by pitchers.
