Scouting Report

Lange, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound Dallas Baptist recruit, has been a known prospect, but has absolutely blown up this spring. He had been operating in the mid 90s, touching 99, dipped to 91-94 a couple weeks ago, then bounced back and touched 100. He has an athletic frame with long arms and a wide back. His delivery is simple and repeatable with an athletic tempo. The fastball has some arm-side action to it and he can command the pitch. The slider, which is still a work in progress, sits at 81-84. It has improved with each outing, but still lacks the shape and action to be a swing-and-miss pitch. He also has feel for an 86-87 changeup that he can throw for strikes.

Frame: 6-foot-4, 220-pounds, Athletic, wide back, long arms
Pitching: FB up to 99, has sat comfortably 92-94, 93-96, and 95-99 in 3 different outings on the year. Commands the fastball to both sides of the plate with late armside action with an explosive yet effortless delivery.  SL 80-81 with plenty of room to get better but has shown improvement in recent outings
Delivery: starts on the first base side of the rubber, stride slightly across body, throws from low ¾ slot. Shows natural athletic ability throughout the delivery. Natural rhythm as he separates his hands and gets down the mound. Langes still has room to grow and improve as a pitcher but has been improving his draft stock greatly this spring.
