Outlook:
Liberty Christian Academy is coming off of an outstanding 2014 season that saw them win the Virginia Independent Conference and then proceed to win the VISAA Division I State Championship. The 2015 Bulldogs bring back most of the lineup and a handful of arms from that squad and look dangerous again. The lineup will be led by Josh Campo (C/1B, 2015), Derek Horton (OF, 2015), Matt Bates (IF, 2015), and Hunter Johnson (MIF/RHP, 2017). The pitching staff will be led by Zach Hess (RHP/OF, 2016) and a slew of other quality 2016 arms. The Bulldogs will be very well rounded this year with a strong defense, deep and balanced lineup, and a good pitching staff. Liberty Christian will be a bit younger this year than they were last year and the youngsters will need to grow up quickly. Assuming that happens, Liberty Christian Academy is the favorite to win the VIC again and a team that is ready to defend VISAA State Championship.
