Throughout Wednesday, July 26-Saturday, July 30, 2023 Prep Baseball Report Future Games were held in Emerson, Georgia at our LakePoint Sports Complex. For this event the various PBR staffs from around the country selected the best uncommitted rising juniors and sophomores to form teams to represent their state or region in the event, bringing well over 450 of the best uncommitted players in the United States and Canada to one four field quad for 4 days.

For this event, players from Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and DC were selected to form Team Mid-Atlantic. Players on Team Mid-Atlantic had a position player showcase workout on Wednesday and then played in three games, one per day, Thursday-Saturday, going 1-1-1 against Team Florida, Team Carolinas, and Team California. Scouts from all 30 MLB teams and well over 350 college coaches were in attendance.

Burton's Analysis

Kaleb Williams SS / 3B / West Springfield , VA / 2025

Probably one of the most consistent performers in the Mid-Atlantic comes via the West Springfield infielder. There is a quietness to his game and if you aren’t watching he can sometimes get lost. He is not some big flashy player, but he is the guy that shows up when the lights come on. Contact bat, doubles power, uses the whole field, and just gets it done at the plate. Has started for a very successful program that does not start many underclassmen, and he has started since he was a freshman. Above average runner, consistent defender, and has some positional versatility in the infield, with the ability to stick in the dirt. Came through with a couple big at bats last week, especially in game two versus the Carolinas, where Williams was named the game MVP. Stat stuffer that can handle the bat and find ways to get on base.
