As the season rapidly approaches, we continue our preview of the 2022 High School season by releasing our Preseason Power 25. Today, we reveal teams 6-10.

***Check back Sunday night for Teams 1-5***

10. Glen Allen

Glen Allen returns the core of their pitching staff in Jaden KinslerEthan Hudson, and company. Last year, the staff showed flashes of being really good and then there were times where the lack of experience showed. Not only do they return plenty of arms, but the offense is a year older and should be primed for a big spring. The bats of Ethan BrooksEli BrooksAndrew Harris, and Christopher Johnson carried most of the weight last year and will return to do much of the same. Anthony Connor and Alex Heid are versatile defenders that can do some different things at the plate and should continue to be important pieces for the Jaguars.

9. greenbrier christian

Greenbrier returns a fully healthy senior leader in Austin Younce (VCU) and staff ace Bailey Matela (ODU) and adds senior Brandon Dahlman from Florida. Matela and Dahlman will be accompanied by Dominic Angrisani who filled some big innings for the Gators as a sophomore and will look to expand on that this spring. With Gavin Whitehurst and Austin Younce, the Gator offense has plenty of pop in the middle of that order. New addition Bubba Sawyer (UVA) will add speed to the lineup, as well as a reliable defender at shortstop.

8. st. christopher's

St. Chris returns the core of their team that was unbeaten until the State Championship in 2021. Camden Nuckols will more than likely assume the ace role for the staff and will need help from Kyle Haines (Randolph-Macon) and Jacob Carnley on the mound. The offense will more than likely be paced by Carter Schmitt (Randolph-Macon), Camden Nuckols (VCU), Charlie Knighton, and Bradley Garner. St. Chris will once again look to battle for a VISAA State Championship.

7. st. john's college

The six-time defending WCAC Champs are back and as stacked as ever this spring. On the mound, the rotation will be paced by JT Gibson (Virginia Tech) and Adam Astacio (Eastern Connecticut State) with the usual Cadet depth behind them. Offensively, look for Gibson to be a factor in the lineup along with junior Brayden Martin (Florida State) and senior AJ Martin (George Mason) as well as youngster Colin Gibbs (East Carolina). Other DCSAA and WCAC Championship contenders will once again have to go through St. John's to celebrate a title this May.

6. nansemond river

The Warriors return some important pieces in the lineup with the likes of Grayson Fitzwater (VMI)Ayden Stuffel (CNU)Aden Judge, and Chase Magrisi. Lastly, the Warriors bring back one of the best players, especially positional player, in the 757, Clay Grady (Virginia Tech). Grady is a sparkplug for that offense and a lockdown defender at shortstop. Newly added 2023 Cameron Johnson will also add a big bat to the potent offense. Staff ace Ayden Stuffel gets the ball in the big games, but who will fill the other important innings for the Warriors. If they can get some solid outings from their secondary arms, look for Nansemond River to once again be at the top of their district and region.
