Due to the closure of schools, the Class of 2020 did not get a chance to play out their senior seasons and missed the chance at a true Senior Night. We have had the great pleasure of scouting these players their entire careers and wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate them one last time.

A special thanks goes out to the High School Coaches for their assistance in collecting this information. The dedication to their teams and love of their players that they have is evident in the information they have given us.

If you are a coach and have not yet submitted your Senior Night information, please do so here.

LC Bird

Gavin Burton For the past 5 years, Gavin has been the staple of what a coachable player looks like. From his 8th grade JV season to his senior year, he has played every position on the field. He was projected as the ace of the pitching staff this year. His arsenal features a mid-80's fastball, that can get up into the high 80's, a sweeping slider, and has recently developed a solid changeup. Next year Gavin will continue both his education and baseball career, at Virginia Wesleyan University where he will major in Criminal Justice.
Cooper Grochowaski As the 2018-2019 Coach's Award winner, Cooper was our team's wildcard. To begin the year he was a role player coming off of the bench, but about halfway through the year he got his chance to shine. From there he never looked back, becoming the team's starting second baseman and delivering clutch hits in times we needed him the most. His attitude about not starting, shining when he got his chance, along with his determination to get the job done no matter the situation, unanimously earned him the Coach's Award. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic cancelling the season and forcing school to go online, Cooper has already began the next stage of his life working as a lineman for Dominion Energy.
Eddie Kenyon Eddie came into our program through our Engineering Specialty Center. At first he was predominately seen as only a pitcher, but became one of our biggest power bats last season, as the DH in the 5 hole. His senior season was projecting him to play rightfield ad continue to provide pop in the 5 hole. When not playing rightfield, he was projecting to be a staple of the pitching rotation. Kenyon's arsenal features a low to mid-80's 2-seam fastball with good movement, changeup and a curveball. In the fall Eddie will attend Mississippi State University, where he will major in Aerospace Engineering and will try to walk on, or play club ball.
Ethan Thomas Ethan Thomas came into our program as a raw, talented freshman. Throughout the course of his high school career, he got much faster and his fielding skills improved tremendously. Due to an overcrowded outfield of seniors last season, Thomas did not see much playing time. This year he was poised to platoon in the outfield. Thomas's main strengths were his speed, ability to track the ball and catching anything in the air. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ethan was unfortunately unable to showcase his talents.
Sebastian Ziegler As an Engineering Specialty Center kid, Sebastian came in as a freshman on JV as the team's starting catcher. About halfway through the season, he was called up to Varsity. His bat was so hot, we had to find a spot to keep him in the lineup, so he platooned at second base and left field. As a sophomore, he took over the reigns as the program's backstop behind the plate. His game continued to grow last season as a Junior, hitting his first high school home run. Ziegler was projected to have a big senior season, especially providing experience to our pitchers. Next year Sebastian will attend Virginia Military Institute, where he will major in Chemistry.
