It is with great excitement that we release to you today, our latest update to the Va/DC Class of 2023 rankings with our Top 100 release. There was a few shakeups inside the Top 50 and that created a little movement between 51-100. The full Top 200 will come on Wednesday.

A new face that checks in at #63 is recent UVA commit Nathan Bassett. The Patriot right-hander is a very interesting development over the past year. After hearing some talk of a power arm at Patriot last spring, his stock really sky rocketed late this summer and throughout the fall. The now UVA commit was up to 92 at the PBR Cup at Lakepoint and showed well in front of some of our national scouts. While there are still some command issues at times, this is a high ceiling arm that has plenty of room to add polish and the sky is the limit for this young man.

Another NOVA arm we would like to highlight is uncommitted right-hander Owen Buckley. Buckley showed really well at the Unsigned Senior Games in early August and then followed that up with a strong outing in Maryland at one of our PBR Tournaments. Up to 88 on both occasions, can be effectively wild, still room to add polish, and gets some uncomfortable swings in at bats. The Loudon Valley arm checks in at #52.

Finally, we move to our final highlighted player and that is recent George Mason commit and Freedom-South Riding shortstop, Christian Carver. The state champion shortstop just does everything well. He is not the big physical athlete with unlimited tools, but he shows up every day in game. Makes plays up the middle and produces at the plate in game. Carver had a big year for the Eagles and a really strong showing in Maryland at our PBR Tournament where he just continues to display his consistency.  Carver settles at #75 in the 2023 rankings.
