Forest Park

Caleb Darrah 3B / RHP / Forest Park, VA / 2024

Mature, athletic frame with some proportional strength. Jumpstarted the offense with his solo blast to lead off the top of the second. In his next at bat he had a loud double. Finished the night 3-3 with two walks, one run, and one RBI.

Will Frye C / OF / Forest Park, VA / 2026

5-foot-10, 163-pound frame for the left handed hitting catcher. Had some solid at bats on the night and showed the ability to work deep in counts and battle at bats. Saw twenty-four pitches in his first four at bats, including a nine pitch at bat that resulted in a double to left center field. His double drove in three and he ended the night with four RBI. Clean stroke at the plate with slight uphill path. Stayed inside contact well and shows some gap to gap doubles power. Will need to add arm strength behind the plate as he continues to mature.

Landon Ludington SS / RHP / Forest Park , VA / 2026

Light and thin 5-foot-10, 130-pound frame. Solid defender at shortstop with average arm strength and showed the ability to change slots and throw with accuracy. At the plate it is a level path through the zone. Contact driven swing and approach. Had one hard hit ball on the night where he jumped a fastball for a lineout to center field. Average to slightly below average runner.

Marco Smith C / 2B / Forest Park, VA / 2025

Marco was 2-4 on the night with a solo homerun to lead off the top of the fifth inning. He got an inner half fastball and did a nice job getting the hands inside and barrel through to keep it fair. Overall, he was pretty patient in the at bats that I saw. Did not expand the zone early in counts and had some feel for the zone. Athletic frame with a strong lower half and some in game power to pull.

Miguel Smith SS / RHP / Forest Park, VA / 2025

Miguel is in the leadoff spot for the Bruins, as well as patrols centerfield for the Bruins. Biggest takeaway with Miguel is his aggressive approach at the plate. Was very aggressive early in counts, only seeing five pitches in his first three at bats, before walking in his fourth at bat. He was 1-4 on the night with a line drive through the left side. He got a first pitch breaking ball in that count and barreled it up for a single.

Geoffrey Winkworth SS / RHP / Forest Park, VA / 2025

Square stance, hands set back, minimal load, and a fairly repeatable operation. Had two hits in his first two at bats, including the single in the video below that got FP back into the game early on. Showed some bat to ball ability and a contact drive approach. Finished 2-4 on the night with two singles and two RBI.

Mountain View

Ayden Albright OF / SS / Mountain View, VA / 2025

Slightly upright and open. Front foot gets down early and hands start to load early. Short to contact and delivers a level path through the zone. Long easy strider out of the box, above average run tool, and above average arm strength from the outfield.

Robert Chapman C / 2B / Mountain View (Stafford), VA / 2024

The Hampden-Sydney commit did a solid job handling the staff and most noticeably, showed above average arm strength behind the plate. Chapman was very aggressive on throws, especially trying to back pick at bases. Chapman back picked a Forest Park runner at second base from his knees.

Matthew McCauley LHP / 1B / Mountain View (Stafford), VA / 2026

Large and proportional 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame. Square stance, simple load, hands show some rhythm in load, and has a shorter path to contact. Had two singles on the night and produced two RBI for Mt. View.

Isaac Munoz RHP / Mountain View, VA / 2025

During pregame defense Munoz's work around the bag stood out. Athletic 5-foot-11 frame. Quick exchanges, turned the pivot well at second base, and showed average arm strength on defense. Long term still think it is more arm, but showed some athleticism and versatility in the infield.

Caleb Ramsey OF / RHP / Mountain View, VA / 2025

Square stance, weight distributed evenly in the lower half, and hands are quiet on load. Level path with above average bat speed and strength at contact. Visible strength throughout the frame and above average athlete with some physical tools. George Mason commit.

Hayden Rue C / OF / Mountain View , VA / 2024

While it has been around two years since I have seen play a defensive position, Rue continues to show his offensive abilities. He has been a staple in the front part of the Mt. View order now going on three years (or as long as I can remember). Strength at contact, shows solid bat to ball, and just produces. If you are looking for a bat late in this recruiting cycle, you do not need to look much further than this Mt. View senior.

Kameron Wilharm SS / Mountain View (Stafford), VA / 2025

First time seeing Wilharm. Long levers, raw, funky, and more effectively wild. Not a big command arm, but has solid stuff and definitely has his best days in front of him. Can run the fastball back to the outer half, or run it under the right handed hitter's hands. Showed a short, tight slider at 70-72 mph and had average to slightly below average for that pitch. Projection arm with some more gas in the tank. Worked four innings and struck out six while walking five.

Woodbridge

Kory Barbier C / 3B / Woodbridge, VA / 2025

Strong, compact frame and above average arm strength behind the plate. Was 1-1 on the night with two walks. Square stance at the plate, short stride, and minimal hand load. Barbier is short to contact with a level path and the pre-swing mechanics have minimal moving parts and make it a repeatable operation. Showed the arm strength behind the plate, erasing a Colgan runner in the middle innings.

Aiden Ellerts RHP / 3B / Woodbridge, VA / 2024

Ellerts was not his usual self. While the fastball held it's mid 80's velo through the 4th, he was only able to land one secondary, the curveball, consistently for strikes. The curveball works lower 70's with bigger 12/6 shape and is a really solid offering. Tried to land the low to mid 70's slider, but he tended to work around that pitch and did not have a great feel for it. Showed a upper 70's changeup that played really well off of the fastball and was a solid third-fourth pitch. Long and thin frame with room to fill and still has some projection left to him.

Aiden Simoneau 1B / RHP / Woodbridge, VA / 2025

Listed at 6-foot-1, Simoneau is every bit of that and more. Long levers, projection left, and plenty of room to fill. Square base, somewhat wider setup, and strides forward on line to a wider finish. Hands are set high, show some pre-pitch rhythm, and did a nice job matching plane, especially his two strike lineout to right field. Strength and power potential in the frame and swing.

Colgan

Julius Bagnerise SS / 2B / Colgan, VA / 2025

Bagnerise had a really strong day at the plate, doing 3-3 with a double and homerun. There seem to be a few more moving parts than when we saw him last spring and summer, but he was able to consistently find the barrel during this game. Had a four pitch walk in his first at bat, went on to steal two bases, then followed it up with a double to left center field, had an infield single in his third at bat, and then finally a grand slam to blow the game open late. On his double he got down into the lower half and did a nice job of riding the backside out through the swing and showed his well above average hand speed through the zone. Solid defender at short that can make a variety of plays and does a nice job setting angles working into throws.

Tyler Bassett 3B / RHP / Colgan, VA / 2024

Gavin Knox RHP / OF / Colgan, VA / 2027

Five innings of work for the freshman Virginia Tech commit. Allowed only three hits, no runs, one walk, and struck out five hitters. Lighter effort, repeats the delivery well, and shows some positive signs in terms of command and pitchability. Knox sat 84-86 through the first two innings and then faded more 82-84 in the third inning. Knox showed two breaking balls, a bigger 11/5 curveball at 73-75 that he worked around and lacked feel for. The go to pitch, and best secondary, was the slider. Slider was firm at 77-79 and had more cutter shape early, but started to add some depth in the second and third innings. Knox was able to land the slider whenever he wanted and was the go to out pitch.
