In December we released our first look at the 2027 class with a Top 25 release. Today, we expand that class to the Top 50, adding in twenty-five talented freshmen from across the state. As we continue to see more and more 2027's, this class will look drastically different in the next one to two years. With all of these players being freshmen, our staff will need to rely mostly on showcases, scout days, and tournaments as evaluation opportunities for these players because most of them will not be on the varsity level and it will be tough to see them this spring.

Moving into the rankings for this late winter update is Daggu Rana. The Langley RHP/SS impressed at the Preseason All-State NOVA event a few weeks back. The 5'10" freshman is probably more arm than bat right now, but did show some athleticism and arm strength in the infield. On the mound he was up to 86 mph. He had a fairly clean operation and some slight effort later in the delivery. Rana also showed solid feel for secondary during his workout that day.

Also moving into the rankings is a left handed hitting catcher from St. John's College HS. Brady Maxwell impressed at the annual Diamond Skills All-American Camp in January. At the plate it is an easy, repeatable operation with a clean path through the zone. Above average bat speed and he generates it with minimal effort. Behind the plate Maxwell has shown above average arm strength for his class and some accuracy around the bag. Left handed hitting catchers are always a premium and this one fits the bill to be a very interesting follow in the future.

The last player moving in that we are going to touch on is a freshman two-way talent out of Hanover HS. Gabriel Corey is a left handed arm and right handed hitting outfielder that looks to be the potential next one up for the Hawks' program. On the mound it is a pretty low effort operation, arm works, and shows some feel on the mound. At the plate it is a wider setup, no stride, and average bat speed for the freshman outfielder. The path has some length at times, but as he adds strength he will be able to produce more bat speed through the zone. Slightly above average runner for a freshman and should continue to build on that as he matures.
