Blaine Clemmens
Northern California Director of Scouting

Prep Baseball Report was on hand in Stockton (CA) to get a look at players during the NCTB Upperclass Tournament. This tournament was stocked with 15 teams from July 17-19. Here is a list of infielders and outfielders who caught the attention of our scouts and evaluators during the games and testing. Be sure to click the players name for full profile/report/video (if available).

INFIELDERS

2019 SS Alex Gouveia, Manteca HS
Gouveia had reports submitted by three different scouts. Rangy shortstop with soft hands and good footwork that helps arm play up. High baseball IQ type player with strength and athleticism.

2019 2B Jackson Forbes, Vanden HS
One of the more impressive players in the exit speed testing as he got into the mid-90s. Quick left-handed bat and can handle quality pitching. Good range at 2nd base with high level athleticism.

2019 1B/3B Justin Johnson, Christian Brothers HS
Potential for PLUS raw power is the draw with him. Swing happens easily and ball leaps off his bat. Still growing into big time frame, when he physically matures the raw power potential is monstrous.

2020 SS Ryan Wong, Alameda HS
Showed well above average abilities in both halves of the game, with high level barrel awareness, good pitch selection and balance. Keeps barrel in zone. Good feet and solid glove with fair range.

2019 3B Brian Gregersen, Las Lomas HS
Physical player with bat talent and arm talent that both translate quite well for the college game, possibly beyond at some point. Rangy body type that will fill in, projects to be a power bat in college.

2019 SS Brady Miguel, San Benito HS
Left-handed hitter who showed next level athleticism both offensively and defensively. Heady player too. Advanced approach with spray swing, bag stealer with plus reactions. Quick release in infield.

2020 MIF Cameron Faris, Castro Valley HS
Well-rounded player stood out as hitter, fielder and runner in the tourney. Actions that translate beyond high school, strong arm, to go with a compact swing and a projectable frame, lots to like here.

2020 2B Eric Morales, Dublin HS
Left-handed hitting middle infielders are always in demand and Morales has a nice approach at the plate with a flat swing, he's also a good runner. Defensively showed athletic actions and soft hands.

2019 SS Julian Mendoza, Monte Vista Christian HS
Sure handed middle infielder who plays a clean defensive game, the kind that makes coaches quite comfortable. Good first step and clean quick release. Feel for the game and flashed a gap approach.

2019 SS Maximus Cappello, Liberty HS (Brentwood)
Well-built middle infielder, Cappello is a highly competitive player with an aggressive approach to the game. Speed on bases, sprayed lines drives to all fields, quick feet and strong arm in the infield.

2019 INF Jordan Aguallo, Antioch HS
Stood out w/a big arm across the diamond, lots of carry and actions that translate beyond high school. Offensively showed strength and good barrel awareness, with athleticism/instincts on the bases.

2019 INF Trevor Leon, St. Francis HS (Mountain View)
Lean athletic body that has the look of a player. Feel for the game was very clear, with natural infield instincts. Offensively showed a compact stroke with bat speed. Real good around the bag on turns.

OUTFIELDERS

2019 OF Jordan Wright, De La Salle HS
Of all outfielders who had reports submitted, Wright was turned in most frequently. Lean bodied athlete, accelerates well w/good range. Leadoff hitter w/compact swing and plus speed on the bags.

2021 OF Tyree Reed, Will C. Wood HS
Long/lean w/smooth actions and speed to cover gap to gap. Ball tracking skills and strong arm. Offensively he has plus bat speed w/loose fast hands, slashing swing, power will come as he fills in.

2019 OF DeAngelo Fleetwood, El Cerrito HS
Physically imposing type of player, built like a running back and plays with the type of speed, power and aggression of a football player. Plenty of bat speed, good range, solid arm. Tools aplenty.

2019 2B/OF Garret Santos, Christopher HS
Aggressive, athletic outfielder with a compact left-handed swing and middle of the field approach. Balanced w/good lower body stability. Strong arm that had good on-line carry. Good runner too.

2019 3B/OF West Andrade, San Benito HS
Another talented left-handed hitter, Andrade impressed our scouts with his hitting ability, which stood out as one of the best of all the hitters. Barrel life through the zone and stayed LONG in the zone.

2020 OF Kenny DeCelle, Vacaville HS
In terms of raw athleticism and twitchiness, combined with tools that drip projection, DeCelle sure stood out. Lively bat speed, ball jumps off his bat, body projects nicely, plus runner with range for CF.

2021 OF Jordan Fisher, American Canyon HS
Fisher is a L/L outfielder with ball tracking talent and a great first step to the ball in the air. Accurate arm and a good release too. Showed off drag bunt skills and a quick bat with a gap/gap approach.

2020 OF Tyler Keenan, Monte Vista Christian HS
Keenan was noticed playing a strong centerfield. Lanky body with a highly projectable frame. Major physical upside. Drove ball in gaps and consistently put the barrel on the ball. Fast hands, good path.
