The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a NorCal '25 SS/2B Gianni Di Redo from Buchanan High School. Returning to the Central Valley for the 2nd day in a row we have a compact framed middle infielder who has strength and an intriguing offensive potential. Standing 5'9 190 lbs. with present strength across his frame and decent athletic ability Di Redo projects as an offensive minded 2B who if his arm gets stronger can play some 3B. He has reliable hands with good footwork with accuracy on his throws that give him the ability to be a solid defender at 2B long term. Where Di Redo stands out most is in the batters box with a direct RH swing that has strength through contact and gets leverage in the path to drive the baseball through the middle of the field. His swing data is solid across the board, but his batted ball data is impressive with a 95 MPH max exit velocity and an average exit velocity at 91.7 MPH in Prep Baseball California workouts while showing carry to the pull side of the field with a max distance of 340' showing his sneaky HR power potential with solid doubles power through the big part of the field. Di Redo plays in a very strong baseball region in California and is a strong name to add to college recruiting boards for the '25 class both for his offensive ability and infield defense.

Event: Fresno Preseason ID
Positional Profile
: MIF
Physical
: 5-9, 175-pounds; 4.10 30-yard, 24.2” max jump height; Compact body type with strength on average size frame, muscular through legs w/shoulder strength as well.
Offensively: RH. EV max – 92.3 mph, hand speed max – 19.9 mph, bat speed max – 67.6 mph; Feet outside shoulders slightly open, slight crouch with pinched knees, hands start over backside, small load and compact to ball, short powerful stroke, small foot lift toward plate, back foot and front foot switch alignment as swing finishes, puts nose on ball, stays on-plane as he chases barrel through contact, stroke tailored for CF/RF hard contact, physical use of core, short two handed finish, doesn’t need ‘his’ pitch to make impact contact, hitterish is an apt term for him.
Defensively: SS – 81 mph; One step into low ready position, chops feet as he’s reading the play, fields out front before funneling to mid-section, sound glove skills, gritty defensively presence with tools likely tailored best for 2B as he moves toward baseball after the high school level.
