Scout Notes

Charles Alonso OF / LHP / St Lucie West Centennial, FL / 2023

A bit undersized and has some present effort in the delivery, but the young lefty has a quick arm and the 80-84 mph FB has some late life.

Christopher Blanco RHP / SLAM Charter, FL / 2023

Rhythmic, methodical delivery with feel on the bump. Very quick arm over the top, FB jumps on hitters. Late breaking CB with depth.

FB: 83-86 T88
CB: 69-71

Noah Campbell SS / RHP / George Jenkins, FL / 2024

5-foot-9, 150 pounds. Campbell did a nice job attacking the outside corner for strikes. Up to 83 with life on the FB. Would go 5.2 innings allowing 1 run with 6 strikeouts.

FB: 80-82
CB: 68-69

Xavier Campbell / N/A, OH / 2024

Raw strength with a chance to tap into some power. Room for improvement as well with efficient bat speed and good finish.

Griffin Cline RHP / 3B / George Jenkins , FL / 2025

Has done it on both sides of ball for the Swarm. On the mound, he’s mixed his spots well, and has kept batters off balance. 6 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. At the plate, has shown a short swing with good extension.

David Dielman 3B / RHP / Olentangy Liberty, OH / 2022

Dielman displays pull side pop. Gets the arms extended and drives off the backside. Lined a double double to the gap and flew out to deep right with some nice swings on the ball.

Lamar Edwards Jr. 1B / LHP / Undecided, FL / 2025

5-foot-11, 165 pound strong/athletic frame. Very intrigued by Edwards Jr. He has shown the ability to spray the ball to all fields with a short/compact swing.

Sean Esquinaldo C / Wesley Chapel, FL / 2022

Strong, athletic frame. Delivers his 2nd homerun in as many days. Shows a good consistent line drive approach to all fields, and present pull side power.

Jeffrey Gonzalez OF / Treasure Coast, FL / 2021

6-foot-3, 170 lbs. Athletic 2021 w/ long/live arm. Consistently 89-90, sinking FB arm side and also able to go glove side w/ velo. 3 IP, 8 K’s, 0 H, 1 BB

FB: 87-90
CB: 74-77
SL: 78-80
CH: 74-75

Ryan Laymon RHP / 3B / Mosley, FL / 2024

Advanced frame with length. High waisted and quick hands through the zone. Long arms create leverage and shows ability to get the barrel out front consistently.

Carter LeBlanc RHP / OF / Sickles , FL / 2024

6-foot-3, 160 lbs. Long, lean frame w/ some projection. Leblanc works in rhythm, reaching a consistent balance point attacking the strike zone w/ FB for swing/miss.

FB: 82-84
CB: 68-69

Gage McCrystal 3B / RHP / Winter Haven, FL / 2025

Interesting two-way. Launched a ball deep to LF for a 2-RBI double. Tight swing with good extension through contact. On the mound, threw 3 innings with 5 strikeouts.

Andy Mesa 3B / Imater Charter, FL / 2024

6-foot-4, 160lbs. Tall, lanky right hander has a fluid delivery with a live arm. Stays around the zone with a late moving fastball. Flashes a tight breaking ball and splitter as well. Projectable.

Alvin Pabon II 3B / 1B / Sandalwood, FL / 2023

Pabon continues to be an impact hitter for Fort Caroline. Comes up clutch Saturday driving a RBI single passed third base for a walk off win.

Carrick Ryan OF / LHP / Voyager Academy, NC / 2025

At 4-foot-11, 92lbs, Ryan showed great confidence and poise on the mound, filling the zone all game and attacking hitters, resulting in a complete game shutout with 7 Ks.

Nelson Taylor OF / Clearwater, FL / 2021

Polk State commit. Taylor has really shown his athleticism for the Angels. Above average range in CF showing ability to cover both gaps with ease. Later, drove a triple to right showing of his speed around the bases.

Dawson Vaughn C / 1B / Creekside, FL / 2024

At 6-foot-1, 210 pounds, Vaughn seems to be an imposing power bat for his age. Slow and early load, generates good power throughout, stays through baseballs, and finds the barrel. Displayed plate discipline as well, drawing two walks on the day.

Hayden Yost OF / 1B / Sickles, FL / 2023

6-foot, 160 lbs. Plenty of projection in the Florida commit, long/athletic frame w/ a mature approach at the dish. Level bat path getting extension through contact showing ability to drive the ball to all fields
