Seffner Christian defeats IMG Academy Silver 8-3

I headed over to IMG Academy yesterday to watch their Silver team take on Seffner Academy. CJ AuBuchon got the start for IMG. He ended up striking out 7 over four innings. A bit of sporadic command at times but made pitches when he needed too.

The Seffner Crusaders would immediately threaten when CJ Koenck led off the game with a double followed by an Ethan Duncan walk but AuBuchon would get a double play and strikeout to end the threat. For IMG they would score 2 in the bottom half on a RBI triple from Dillon Moss and a RBI single from Bobby Eidell.

In the 2nd both pitchers would settle in and strikeout the side. AuBuchon for IMG and Ian Bast for Seffner Christian. Both teams would threaten in the 3rd but neither could find a way to push a run across. The Crusaders took the lead in the 4th when Ian Bast and Colin Patten walked, and Collin McNeal reached on an error. Then with 2-outs William Rudometkin cleared the bases on a 3RBI double down the LF line. Austin Trimble came in relief for Seffner, throwing 2 shutout innings.

IMG tied the game up in the 6th after Parker Loew drew a walk, stole second, and then Jaehyeok Jang bunted him over to 3rd. Osi Hosokawa would drive in the tying run and we would head to the 7th all knotted at 3. With 1-out William Rudometkin was hit by a pitch and the flood gates would open. CJ Koenck doubled, Ethan Duncan and Zac Werner singled, Shay Dean and Garrett Morgan tripled, and Seffner ended up with a 8-3 lead as we headed to the bottom half of the 7th. Ethan Duncan worked a 1-2-3 inning and wound up getting the win.
