Preseason All-State Session II

Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6’0”, 180 pounds. Strong, athletic body type. 
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, square stance. Creates good hand separation with a quick toe tap load and short stride. Attacks the ball with intent using a slightly uphill swing path. Stays behind the ball well with good lower half involvement. Short to the ball, maintaining good balance with quick hands and fast bat speed. Great extension through the zone and past contact with a strong one handed finish. Strong middle to pull side approach, lacing balls consistently during multiple BP rounds.    
Power: 92 mph exit velocity from the tee. Gap-to-gap with power present to the pull side with more developing. 
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. Longer arm action from a mid to high three-quarter slot. 
Defense: Plays loose with active feet and gets around the ball well, playing through it towards the bag. Fields the ball out in front, funneling it to the belt. Shows good range side to side with clean exchanges and soft hands. 
Run: 4.25 home-to-first time.

Delivery: Starts with a subtle, side rocker step into a waist high leg kick. Mechanics are sounds, getting a good drive off his back leg. Gets all of his weight moving downhill, and towards the target. Lands in a solid, athletic fielding position.
Arm Action: RH. Throws out of a mid three-quarter arm slot.
FB: T83mph, 80-82 mph. Cut action out of the hand.
CB: 71-73 mph. Tight, 11/5 shape.
CH: 74-75 mph. Thrown at FB arm speed with fade at the plate.

1/15/2018 - Freshmen Free Showcase

Athletic and projectable frame at 5-foot-10, 157-pounds. Hits from a square set up at the plate. Smooth laod back to hitting position. with double tap type leg kick. Shorter swing path with quick hands and average bat speed. Got around ball at times, like to see free hands up more through contact. Showed some rhythm at the plate and average balance. Closed self off at times. Exit velo of 67 mph. Ran a 7.61 60-yard dash. Showed active feet in the outfield. Sound hands with and average exchange. Would like to see work thru the ball more. Longer arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot. Position velo of 73 mph. ---- Deliberate build up style delivery. High leg kick to balance with down to out style lower half. Average backside involvement, could get more. Longer arm action with arm speed throwing from high three quarter slot. Fastball had downward action on the pitch up to 75 mph. Breaking ball had gradual movement on the pitch with 11/5 shape at 58 mph. Change up had fade at 63. Room for growth and should continue to gain arm strength.
