The Top Prospect Games was an invite only event that featured a number of prospects ranging from the 2021-2024 classes. The event consisted of a Pro-Style workout on first day that used industry leading technology to analyze and assess each position player at the event. On the second day of the event, a live simulation took place with hitters facing pitchers who were tracked with the TrackMan system. This event took place at Las Vegas Ballpark and was attended by prospects from all over Nevada and live streamed on the PBR Nevada Twitter account.
In today's Positional Analysis, we look a the outfield position highlighted by UNLV signee, Santino Panaro, who found himself near the top of every leaderboard.

Ranges well to both the forehand and backhand sides. Has the present actions to remain up the middle. Could be a player that develops into one of the top IF in Nevada’s 2023 class.
Arm: RH. 77 mph. Short, quick arm action. High ¾ arm slot. Some carry.
Hit: RHH. Spread, closed stance. Starts slightly squatted. Bat toggle timing mechanism. Toe tap load. Come upright as his stride lands. Slight uphill swing path. High two-handed finish. Line drive type hitter with some power potential as he continues to add physicality to his game.

Defense: IF. Prototypical shortstop actions. Fluid through the ball. Quality glove work. Ranges well to both the forehand and backhand sides. One of the top 2023 infielders in the state.
Arm: RH. 75 mph. Loose, quick arm. High ¾ arm slot. Accurate with some carry.
Hit: RHH. Tall, athletic set up. Starts slightly open. Efficient, steep bat path into the zone. Gets extended well with a high finish. Produced line drives throughout his round. Power potential to both gaps. Tripled to RCF during game play. Will be an exciting bat to follow in the coming years.

Joey Randazzo C / 2B / Bishop Gorman, NV / 2022
Positional Profile: Randazzo has solidified himself among the top backstops in the 2022 Class. He has continued to improve his receiving abilities behind the plate as well as his blocking which he put on display multiple times during the Nevada Top Prospect event. His best tool is still his hit tool where he has now added some power to his arsenal.
Body: 5-foot-11, 180 pounds. Present strength throughout his frame. Proportionate, athletic build. Still possesses his twitchiness and agility behind the plate.
Defense: C. Improved receiving and blocking came to play. Cut down a runner trying to steal with ease during the game play portion of the event after posting a 2.02 Pop Time during the Pro-Style Workout portion of the event. Has excellent balance behind the plate with a strong base and forearms allowing him to stick the lower pitches well.
Arm: RH. 73 mph. Short, quick arm action. Over-the-top arm slot. Accurate with some carry. Continues to improve arm strength.
Hit: Starts in wide base with hands head high. Uses a simple lower body/hand rhythm for timing. Small pick up and put down stride. Efficient hand path to the ball with above average bat speed (71.9 mph). Excellent barrel awareness that help him square balls up throughout his round to the big part of the yard, carrying it into the game as he doubled in his first at-bat. Present power to the pull side. His top tool.

Defense: OF. Projects as a corner OF. Showed comfort coming through the ball. Got around the ball well to get in line with his target, but did tend to field the ball outside of his body. Quality footwork throughout fielding process with a midsection exchange into a clean, on line throw.
Arm: LH. 80 mph. High 3/4 arm slot. Accurate with carry on his throws. Understands he has natural run on the ball and makes the adjustment to delivery an on target throw.
Hit: LHH. Active, athletic set up. Rapid pre pitch rhythm with a high back elbow. Maintains his weight mostly in the center of his body throughout his swing. Hands push back into a slight arm bar. Rotational type swing with an efficient hand path into the zone. Flashes power potential to the pull side. Quality balance throughout his swing.

Recent strength added to his frame has translated into a power surge at the plate over the past few months. Carries a quiet confidence throughout his game.
Body: 5-foot-10, 170 pounds. Athletic build with present strength. Recent physicality added to his frame. Quick twitch that his uses to amplify each part of his game.
Defense: Could make an argument for him as the top outfielder in the state. Excellent instincts at a premium position. Uses his speed to make difficult plays look routine.
Arm: LH. 83 mph. Quick, short arm action. Over the top arm slot. Pulls down to get good carry. Accurate on each of his throws.
Hit: LHH. Starts in a slightly wide stance with hands head high. Slow sink into his back side load with his hands dripping to just above his shoulder height. Small, simple stride that gets down on time allowing him to consistently find the barrel. Bat stays level through the zone with a shoulder high one handed finish. Uses his legs well in his swing to generate power which has seen significant progress in the past six months.

Positional Profile: Physical maturity has seen him add the speed tool to his game that will allow him to be competent at any position on the field. His actions in the OF are currently more polished than his IF actions. His versatility helps add value to him as a prospect who can be added to any line up as a middle to top of the order bat with the ability to play any position on the field.
Body: 6-foot-0, 165 pounds. Lean, athletic build with some twitchiness. Has room to add strength and size. Has seen progress throughout his game because of his physical development over the past few months and could continue seeing that progress as he adds more strength to his frame.
Defense: Primary IF, but could end up making the transition to the OF at the next level. Shows projectable action at SS. Tends to field the ball slightly deep, but get the ball out quickly. Could hold down any infield position. Showed natural comfort in the outfield. Comes through the ball with fluidity and confidence.
Arm: IF - 83 mph. OF - 86 mph. High 3/4 arm slot. Accurate with above average carry on his ball.
Hit: Wide based set up. Small hand rhythm in his pre pitch. Slow, compact load into his back side. Simple stride with flashes of a small hanging leg kick. Uses excellent hand speed to drive the ball to all fields with some present power to the pull side. Has some natural lift through his swing.
