Uncommitted Spotlight: '20 Eric Vaccaro

Eric Vaccaro is a 6-foot-2, 190 pound backstop that stood out at the Foothill Scout Day with his raw power at the plate and feel for the catcher position behind the plate. A testament to the work he has put in this summer, Vaccaro was off to a blazing start in the shortened high school season, hitting .615 in the first four games of the year while allowing zero past balls in his 18 innings behind the plate throwing out the only runner who attempted to steal on him. A middle of the order bat for the Falcons, he lead the team in hits including six extra base hits with three doubles, two triples and homerun with fourteen total RBIs to go with it.

He comes with extremely high praise from Foothill Head Coach, Matt Iglitz, "Eric is an outstanding defensive catcher with three years experience as a starter. He is a phenomenal blocker, receives very well and manages the game well. He throws well and runs very well for a catcher his size. He was off to a fantastic start offensively this year, 8/14 with 14 RBI, 1 homerun and 3 doubles. Eric is a tremendous student with a 4.0 GPA. He is intelligent, respectful and will do anything any coach asks of him. Any program would be fortunate to add him to their roster."

Hit: RHH. Athletic set up with slight knee bend. Minimal movement with small hand load and short stride. Natural lift in his extension. Drives the ball to the big part of the yard. Balanced throughout.
Power: 82 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Run: 7.20 runner in the 60. Under way runner.
