Unsigned Senior Games Analysis: Pitchers Part 2

On Wednesday August 9, PBR VA/DC hosted the Unsigned Senior Games at Virginia Sports Complex in Central Virginia. Over 60 players from all corners of the Commonwealth showcased in front of college coaches and the PBR VA/DC staff at the event and had their videos and stats taken before taking part in a game. We continue our analysis of the event with our breakdown of the second  portion of the pitchers: 

Daniel Hupart RHP C.D. Hylton
Hupart is 6-0 with a lankier frame and throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot, short arm action with a quick armstroke and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders uphill and closed, lands closed with a hard fall off finish. Fastball was 78-81 with downward plane and some late sink to it. Curveball was 66-68 with hard 11/5 break and some armspeed. Showed a change-up in warmups with some run and some armspeed to it.

Camden Lazar LHP Douglas Freeman
Lazar is 6-0 with a lanky frame, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot, long arm action that extends back towards third and then shortens up to a quick arm stroke. Shoulders level and closed, lands square with an occasional fall off finish. Fastball was 76-81 with some late run. Curveball had hard sharp 1/7 break and was thrown with some armspeed at 68, tightened almost into a good hard slider when thrown hard.

Lake Lloyd RHP Mt. Hebron (MD)
Lloyd has an athletic frame, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, stabs down and has a shorter arm path, throws with normal effort. Shoulders uphill and closed, lands closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 79-81 with downward plane and some late run. Curveball was 63 with gradual 11/5 break. Change-up was 71 with sink and some armspeed.

Mark Loving RHP Benedictine
Loving is 6-2 with an athletic frame, has a drop and drive delivery and throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot with a shorter, free quick arm action and normal effort. Good rhythm to delivery, shoulders are closed and uphill, lands on line with a slight fall off finish. Fastball was 81-85 with downward plane and some late sink to it. Curveball was 64-66 with hard sharp 11/5 break and good armspeed. Change-up was 68-70 with late run and some armspeed. Good feel for all three pitches.

Ryan Mason RHP Chincoteague (Averett)
Mason is 5-10 with an athletic frame, drop and drive delivery throwing from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Short, quick arm action with some effort to his delivery. Shoulders closed and slightly uphill, lands closed with a slight fall off finish. Fastball was 81-84, touching 85 with some downward plane. Showed changeup in warmups with some armspeed and fading action. Showed curveball in warmups with hard sharp 11/5 break and good armspeed.

Jake Michna RHP Battlefield (Queens College, NC)
Michna is 6-3 with a lankier athletic frame, drop and drive delivery and throws from a drop down sidearm slot. Short quick arm action and normal effort. Shoulders on line, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 78-81, touching 82, with heavy late run to it. Slider was 75-77 with late hard 10/4 break and some depth, threw it with good armspeed. Change-up was 73-74 with good armspeed and heavy sink to it.

Andrew Moore LHP First Colonial
Moore is 6-2 and has a lankier athletic frame, has a drop and drive delivery and throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a shorter arm action and normal effort. Shoulders closed and level, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 78-80, touching 81, with late run to it. Curveball was 69-70 with some armspeed and sharp 2/8 break.

Jack Nathan LHP South Lakes
Nathan is 6-1 with a lankier athletic frame, throws with a drop and drive delivery from a low three-quarters arm slot. Short, free arm action that has some whip to it and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders uphill and closed, lands slightly closed with a bit of a fall off finish. Fastball was 76-78, touching 79, pitch had some downward plane and a bit of late run. Change-up was 71 with heavy fade and some armspeed. Curveball had sharp 1/7 break and was 73-75 with good armspeed.

Justin Parker RHP Matoaca
Parker is 6-1 with a lanky frame, throws from a submarine slot, drop and drive delivery, shorter free arm action, normal effort. Lands closed with a fall off to armside in his finish. Fastball was 77-80 with heavy late sink. Change-up was 70-71 with heavy run and some armspeed. Curveball was 62-64 with gradual sweeping action.
