Welcome to the Arizona Daily Roundup. 

Baseball season is finally here. As of Wednesday, February 26th, the AIA high school baseball season is officially off and running. Throughout the spring, PBR will be posting Daily Roundup with some scores and select performances from past games.

 No. 6 Red Mountain Edges No. 3 Mountain Pointe on Complete Game. 2021 RHP RJ Elmore got the start on the mound, getting the victory. Elmore went the CG, striking out 6 batters while allowing 2 runs (0 ER) on 4 hits & 3 walks. 2021 C Ryan Campos, Arizona commit with a big 2 RBI single in top of the 5th to put Red Mountain ahead 3-2, Elmore holding on for the W.

2020 RHP Ethan Long (Mountain Pointe), Arizona State commit started on the mound against RM. Long went 3 innings in his debut, striking out 4 batters while surrendering one walk and zeros across the rest of the board. 

No. 7 Mountain Ridge climbed up the P25 rankings after a hot start. Mountain Ridge continued their undefeated start on Tuesday playing Cesar Chavez, winning 10-0. Recently committed, 2021 LHP Gray Bailey, (Texas-Arlington commit), started on the mound going the complete five inning game. Recording the shutout vicotry, Bailey struck-out 10 batters allowing 1 walk and 2 hits. 2020 RF Ryan Ellis, St.Marys commit led the offense going 3 for 4 with a triple & double, scoring 3 runs of his own with an RBI. 

Unranked but on the rise, Pinnacle upsets No. 11 Horizon2020 SS/RHP Kolby Kmetko, Washington State commit led the way for Pinnacle with a 2-run HR in bottom of the first inning. Kmetko also pitched the final three innings of the game. He struck-out two batters while allowing no runs on two hits. 2021 Tyler Dorsch also had a HR in the game for Pinnacle.

Unranked Pitchers Dual: 2021 RHP Ryan Scheifer (Campo Verde), GCU commit vs 2020 LHP Drew Woody (Highland), Sac State commit squared off last night. Highland pulled off the victory vs Campo Verde 3-2 late in the game. Schiefer threw 6 innings with 7 strikeouts, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits with 1 walk. Woody threw 4 innings with 9 strikeouts, allowing 1 run on 2 hits with 3 walks.
