3B/RHP Ryan Karstetter Commits to Virginia

KarstetterRyan Karstetter is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound 3B/RHP who hit .444 in a limited role as a freshman in 2012 for the Class AAAA State College Little Lions. His play during the course of the summer for the Evoshield Canes M-A 2014's quickly garnered him attention by a number of Division I programs. Karstetter further elevated his stock with his play at the WWBA World Underclass Tournament in October. He left Florida with an All-Tournament Selection after going 6-for-12, with a double, triple, five RBI and five runs scored.

Following several months of weighing his options, Karstetter officially committed to the University of Virginia. North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest were also very high on his list, but according to Karstetter, "I have decided to attend the University of Virginia because it has one of the best baseball programs in the country, it is a great university and the coaching staff is great."

Karstetter becomes the first Pennsylvania Class of 2015 prospect to make a college commitment. He is currently ranked No. 7 in the PA Class of 2015 and No. 39 in the Prep Baseball Report combined rankings. Karstetter has prototypical corner infield size and runs a 6.70 60-yard dash.
