Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2024 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Kansas Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Coach’s Insight:

“We are a bit of an unproven commodity. The program graduated 5 seniors and 19 of 21 starts on the mound, but we return a good core of players who got significant experience last season. We will have great leadership in Jenson Harness. The key to the season will be the development of our underclassmen. The season will be one of growth. I'm a brand new head coach, so there will be a feeling out period for both me and for the players. We will be far different in May than we will be in March, so our focus is on getting 1% better everyday and understanding that with the way the system works, we have already made the tournament. Everyone goes to the postseason. Last year's 2-1A champion finished the regular season with a 9-11 record. Our aim is to work to improve everyday to position ourselves to make a run when it matters the most. The growth will be incremental - we will certainly have some growing pains, but we will be process driven more than results oriented, understanding that hard work will get us to our overall goals.” – Jay Sanderson, head coach
