Justin Davis, LHP, Mount Vernon HS, Class of 2016

PBR: Why did you choose Sinclair?

Davis: I chose Sinclair because I liked the campus and I feel that Coach Dintaman will help me get to the next level.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Davis: I was considering a few other schools but as soon as I went on the Sinclair campus for a visit I knew that was a great choice for me and my family.

PBR: Sinclair is known for sending many of their players to 4 year colleges.  How much of a role did that play in your decision to go to Sinclair?

Davis: This played a huge role in my decision. It has always been one of my personal goals to pitch for a competitive D1 school and I know that by playing under coach Dintaman for a year I'm greatly improving my chances to do that.

PBR: Where did the Coach Dintaman first see you?

Davis: Coach Dintaman first saw me at a showcase before the summer season.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment.

Davis: I play for the Ohio Longhorns in the summer and I'd have to say the most memorable moment of last season was when I and another teammate started off the tournament by throwing back to back no hitters with 13 and 14 K's.

PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your team and individual goals for this spring?

Davis: Now that my commitment is out of the way my team’s goal is to win the OCC and my personal goal is to improve my walk to K ratio.

PBR:  What were you stats last spring?

Davis: Last spring my stats were 50 K's and 30 BB in 41 innings with a 3.07 ERA.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced in Ohio?

Davis: I'm not sure on the toughest batter I faced in Ohio but in a tournament in Ohio the toughest team I faced was definitely the Detroit Metro Stars.
