With 2020 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best 2021 high school coverage that can be found anywhere. 2021 Spring Team Preview: Mantua Crestwood Red Devils

Team Name: Mantua Crestwood Red Devils

2019 Record: 14-13
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 2/2

2021 Team Strengths:

  • Team Chemistry
  • Have the potential to have our starting CF, SS and C are all underclassmen and will be key pieces for the future

Coach Outlook: "Crestwood was hit hard by graduation and the lost COVID season, as 7 Seniors graduated from a team that went 14-13 and advanced to District-Semi Final in 2019 and were poised to make another run in 2020. The impact of a lost season also cost a valuable year of experience at the Varsity level for the current Junior and Sophomore Class. In 2021 youth will be served, as seven of Crestwood's 13 players are a Freshman and zero Seniors. Crestwood return two Varsity letterman from 2019, Junior Kyle Gregel (1B/C/OF) and Junior Jacob Dustman (P/INF). Juniors Kaden Plechaty and Jacob Rowe and Sophomore Jonas Honeycutt return from 2020 and would have lettered."

Top Returning Players:

  • Kyle Gregel, P/1B/OF/C, 6'0/170, R/R, lettered in 2019 as a Freshman. Hit .267 (4/15) in 9 Games (4 Starts).
  • Jacob Dustman, P/INF, 6'0/155, R/R, lettered in 2019 as a Freshman. Went 3-1, 5.25 ERA in 4 Starts, 1 CG, 17.1 INN, 22 R, 13 ER, 21 K, 13 BB.
