Ohio 2014 RHP David Lemasters names a leader

With the summer season concluded and the fall signing period just over three months away, Lakeview senior right-handed pitcher David Lemasters is approaching decision time.

The 6-foot, 170-pound right-handed pitcher first put himself on the map last February at PBR Ohio's Northeast Ohio Winter Showcase.

On that occasion, the talented righty sat 83-86 mph with a sharp breaking ball.

Later in June, Lemasters participated in the Top Prospect Games, sitting 84-87 mph and bumping up to 88 while showing command of a 67-69 mph breaking ball and a 73-75 mph changeup.

Now, with decision time approaching, he said, "I am deciding between Lake Erie College, La Roche, and Youngstown State."

But, when it comes down to one, Lemasters said, "Lake Erie is the clear leader."

While sorting through the pros and cons of each location, he noted, "I like the small campus of Lake Erie and La Roche and Youngstown State is close to home."

He quickly followed up, "I have an excellent relationship with Coach McGee at Lake Erie and like the coaching staff at La Roche."

Already, Lemasters has visited Lake Erie and he has another visit scheduled this week.

Since throwing a week ago in PBR Pennsylvania's Fall Prospect Program, Lemasters has received calls requesting visits from Mercyhurst, Gannon, and Slippery Rock.
