OK Spring Preview: Choctaw Yellowjackets

Andy Urban
Oklahoma Scouting Director

The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on March 2nd, opening day for regular season action under Ossaa regulations. Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2020 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, leading into a countdown through the official PBR Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

If you would like your team covered, please have your head coach email us at [email protected]

BROCK WEST C/5’11/170/FR/R/R/ PHYSICALLY ADVANCED AS WELL AS AN ADVANCED CATCHER WITH SOME POP AT THE PLATE. LOOK FOR WEST TO DEVELOP THIS YEAR AND PLAY A BIG ROLE IN YEARS TO COME.

OUTLOOK

The Choctaw Yellowjackets will be one of the deepest teams in 6A baseball on both sides of the ball. There will be very few holes in the lineup and strike throws with stuff in the rotation and in the pen. Their challenge will be to find their identity and on field leadership this year, having graduated a large number of senior leaders last year.
