Roff vs Red Oak

Tallen Bagwell, RHP/OF, 2023, Roff

One of the top 2023 arms in the state, Bagwell not only showed advanced stuff on the mound, but competed throughout the outing against a very good Red Oak line up. Bagwell is a high follow arm for any D1 school. 

 

 


Trayson Miller, OF, 2021, Roff

The long and athletic left-handed hitter showed off his bat speed and barrel control in this one. The Cowley commit has an easy frame to project size and strength on to which should allow for him game to continue to progress. A name to remember. 

 

 

Denver Hamilton, RHP/INF, 2023, Red Oak

The Eastern Oklahoma State commit was dialed in and sharp early on this one. For the first three innings Hamilton was in complete control with over powering stuff. We saw in the fall state championship up to 88 and he has already made the jump to 91. Look for more velo to come soon for this young arm. 

 

 



Ft. Cobb-Broxton vs Wister


Kyler Denton, RHP/INF, 2021, Ft. Cobb-Broxton

Denton has been doing damage on both sides of the ball for Ft. Cobb-Broxton for four years now and it is a perfect ending to his career winning a state championship with a complete game performance on the mound. The Cowley commit’s velo was up to where we have seen it before but he threw his fastball for strikes to both sides of the dish and spun a breaking ball for strikes. 

 

 



Jenks vs Memorial


Tanner Primeaux, 1B/LHP, 2024, Jenks

 After spending most of the year away from the varsity, Primeaux is one of the biggest reasons Jenks is in the state tournament. Primeaux produced at least one base hit in every game for the Trojans from the middle of the order. 

 

 


Brooks Fowler, SS/RHP, 2021, Jenks

Another uber talented two-way prospect in the 2021 class, Fowler is an elite athlete that commands the strike zone in the upper 80s and low 90s with the fastball paired with a mid-80s breaking ball. Defensively, he is one of the top shortstops in the state with a real chance to stick there at the next level. Offensively, Fowler has lead his team all year long hitting for average and pop. 

 

 

Christian McClendon, OF, Edmond Memorial 

One of the top uncommitted players in the state, McClendon went off in this one collecting three hits and keeping Edmond Memorial in the game. 

 

 


Enid vs Jenks


Garrett Shull, SS, 2024, Enid

The Oklahoma State commit is impressive freshman on both sides of the ball. The switch hitter batted nearly .400 on the year with impressive pop. Defensively at short Shull plays with confidence and clean actions showing a strong and accurate arm. 

 



Heritage Hall vs Byng


Jackson Jobe, RHP/SS, Heritage Hall, 2021

Jobe is one of the best arms to ever come out of Oklahoma and has put up numbers to match. The right-hander has continued to add velo all spring long while continuing to thrown and unbelievable amount of strikes. His slider is world class in the low to mid 80s with 2750-3050 rmp. Jone also mixes a plus changeup at times. 

 

 


Austin Lemon, OF, Heritage Hall, 2023

Lemon has been one of the most consistent hitters in the state this season, putting up impressive numbers from each side of the dish. A quick twitch athlete, the Oklahoma state commit is also an elite center fielder.  


 

 


Deer Creek vs Southmoore


Keaton Ruthardt, RHP, 2021, Deer Creek

Ruthardt showed what makes him so good in this one. After being 88-90 early in the game and continued to battle to complete the shutout even when his stuff began to wane. A competitive strike thrower with much more room in his frame to add strength, Ruthardt will be a fun prospect to follow at Cowley. 


 

 



Elk City vs Heritage Hall


Kash Mayfield, OF, 2024, Elk City

Mayfield’s long and lean frame along with his smooth and athletic actions with easy effort show up in his swing almost as much as does when he is on the mound. The Oklahoma State commit has one of the highest ceilings in the class. 


 

 


Putnam City North vs Midwest City


Bryan Williams Jr., OF, Midwest City 

One of the most athletic freshmen in the class, Williams Jr. was one of the bright spots for Midwest City this season hitting over .400 and playing an advanced center field. 


 

 


Landon Fonzi, OF/RHP, Putnam City North, 2023

Further ahead right now as an athletic left-handed bat, Fonzi shows arm strength on the mound and enough feel for his body to consistently fill up the strike zone. 


 

 


Yukon vs Choctaw


Carson Benge, 3B/RHP, Yukon, 2021

One of the top two way prospects in the country, Benge has put up eye popping numbers on both sides of the ball this spring batting well over .500 and an ERA under one. Benge has received some pro attention on both sides of the ball and will likely have a change to help OSU as a two-way if he makes it to campus. 

 

 


Union vs Putnam City West


Brody Briggs, C, 2023, Union


The Sophomore catcher has been heating up at the plate over the last couple of weeks for Union.  The left handed hitter has some strength with an inside out approach and level bat path.  His best tools come from behind the plate where he has shown all season long to be an advanced blocker of the baseball as well as turning into one of the better catch and throw guys in the area.

 

 

Bartlesville vs Sapulpa


Jakob Hall, RHP/SS, 2021, Bartlesville


The Senior ORU commit worked his fastball in the upper 80’s with good arm side run and command.  He also showed good feel for a mid 70’s sweeping breaking ball that covers a lot of horizontal ground that buckled right handed hitters.  He has an athletic delivery and the ball comes out of his hand very easy which should translate to more velocity in the future.  He’s also a very accomplished hitter with quick hands and good overall bat speed.  Defensively he shows smooth actions with good enough arm strength to stay on the left side of the infield.

 

 

 

 

Kaiden Ashton, OF, 2022, Sapulpa

The Junior outfielder has a really quick and compact stroke from the left side of the plate and has shown the ability to drive the ball with gap power.  He is a sneaky good athlete with quick twitch actions and some surprising pop from an undersized frame.  

 

 

Jack Blevins, INF/RHP, 2024, Sapulpa


The Freshman continues to impress with his ability to drive the balls with a big swing while looking very comfortable in the box.  Blevins doesn’t get cheated with his swings and has shown the ability to get the barrel to the ball all season long against quality pitching.  One of the better competitors we’ve scouted all Spring, Blevins will also work on the mound where he attacks hitters with a three pitch mix and shows a unique ability to strand runners time and time again.  He’s a very exciting player to watch and will be an intriguing prospect to follow over the next couple of years.

 

 


Owasso vs Broken Arrow


Brennan Phillips, LHP/OF, 2022, Owasso


The Junior OSU commit has been well-documented in our previous scout blogs and on Wednesday he provided the same type of results we come to expect from him each time he toes the rubber.  The fastball was it’s usual upper 80’s with sneaky life and was dropping in the hammer breaking ball in the low 70’s whenever he wanted.  He did mix in a few more changeups in this one that showed really good action at times in the 80 mph range.  He finished his outing working 6 innings while only allowing 5 hits and picking up 11 strikeouts along the way.

 

Mason Pennington, INF, 2021, Owasso


The Senior NEO commit continues to provide clutch offensive performances down the stretch for the Rams.  He picked up RBI’s in every game of the Regional last week with his linear swing and strong hands at contact.

 

 

Brody Green, INF, 2021, Owasso


The Senior TCU commit continues to show his strength with the barrel picking up a couple of extra base hits in last week’s regional.  When gets the ball up in the air, he produces a ton of carry and extension with good power.  The defensive actions are also starting to play at a much higher level the last couple of times we have seen him with good range and arm strength from the shortstop position.

 


Putnam City West vs Bartlesville


Jaxon Hyde-Herrera, UTL, 2024, Putnam City West


The Freshman played all over the field last week in their two Regional games showing good versatility and good athleticism from his bigger frame.  Jaxon picked up 3 hits in their two games in the Regional and shows good hand strength and bat speed.  It was a tougher season for the Patriots in 2021 but they show some building blocks in players like Hyde-Herrera for the future of the program.

 

 


Verdigris vs Sequoyah


Jaren Keith, INF, 2021, Verdigris


The uncommitted Senior had a good day at the plate against Sequoyah picking up two hits including a triple and 3 RBI.  He has good overall athleticism with a quick and level stroke from the right side.  He’s also a very good basketball player where he averaged nearly 15 points a game in the 4A State basketball tournament.

 

 

Jax Ryan, INF/RHP, 2023, Verdigris


The Sophomore OU commit is known most for his work at the plate but on this day it was all about his work on the mound.  He pumped fastballs in the low 80’s with a breaking ball clocking in the low 70’s.  He worked the complete game allowing only one first inning running, 5 hits, and picked up 8 K’s along the way.  He had a tougher game at the plate but continues to show the elite bat speed and power potential.

 

 

Bartlesville vs Sapulpa


Bradee Rigdon, OF, 2022, Bartlesville


The Junior outfielder had a monster game in their elimination game against Sapulpa.  He finished the game going 4-5 with a double and RBI to help them advance to the Regional final.  He has a smooth stroke from the left side with good routes to the ball and level bat path. 

 


Union vs Bartlesville


Avery Ortiz, INF, 2023, Union


The Sophomore third baseman continues to impress with his ability to show pull side power with his strong hands and very good bat speed.  He finished his Regional week going 5-8 with a home run and a triple and continues to provide good defense over at the hot corner.  It has been a breakout season for Ortiz and will continue to be a guy to keep an eye on over the next couple of months.

 

 

Collinsville vs Claremore


Conner Duncan, INF, 2021, Collinsville


The Senior shortstop and NOC Enid commit picked up 2 hits in their Regional final last Friday including a big RBI earlier in the game.  He has a traditional foot down early swing from the left side with good barrel control and takes good routes to the ball.  He’s a smooth defender in the middle with good actions and enough arm strength to stay on the left side of the infield in the future.

 

 

Braden Keith, INF/RHP, 2022, Collinsville


The Junior third baseman picked up a couple big RBI’s in Friday’s Regional final for the Cardinals using his short and quick swing with hand strength.  He lets the ball travel deep into the zone allowing him to drive the ball to all fields effectively with a line drive approach.  He also closed the door on the mound pitching the final inning securing their trip to this week’s State tournament.

 

 


Holland Hall vs Kellyville


Wallace Clark, INF/RHP, 2021, Holland Hall


The Senior OU commit came up huge for the Dutch in their winner take all game against Kellyville on Saturday.  He finished the day 2-2 with a double and three monster RBI.  The switch hitter got all of his at bats from the left side on Saturday and showed some really good bat speed and ability to pull the ball with good trajectory and keeping the hands inside the ball to get maximum extension.  He continues to show very good actions at the shortstop position with good range and arm strength across the diamond.


 

 

Noah Shepherd, C, 2021, Holland Hall


Hanging on to a tight lead heading into the final frame, the Senior catcher and Kansas Wesleyan commit provided what would end up being some very big insurance runs with a two run homer to dead center.  That home run was the third homer we have seen in person from Shepherd this season who shows very good strength at contact with his uphill bat path.  He is a hard worker behind the plate as well showing good blocking techniques and receiving skills.
