Several more prospects have named their schools recently, including a top-level 2015 right-hander. A look at who’s going where:

+ One of the top unsigned 2014 pitchers is now off the board after RHP Conor McCarthy (Glenbrook South HS) committed to Villanova University on Saturday. The physical 6-foot-6, 225-pound McCarthy is currently ranked No. 48 in Illinois’ 2014 class and 239 overall. Over the summer, McCarthy flashed upper-80s velocity, reaching as high as 89 mph. McCarthy joins RHP Andrew Owen (Loyola Academy HS) and RHP/OF Trevino Rodriguez (De La Salle HS, IL) in Villanova’s recruiting class.

+ One of Illinois’ top 2015 prospects, RHP Keegan McHood (Argenta-Oreana HS), named his school, when the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder verbally committed to Kentucky. The physical right-hander, who pitches in the upper-80s, is currently ranked No. 28 in Illinois’ 2015 class and 134.

+ Michael Rothmund, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound 1B from Willowbrook HS, has committed to the University of Illinois-Springfield. Rothmund has been a significant run-producer at Willowbrook since his sophomore year. He is currently ranked No. 138 in Illinois’ 2014 class.

+ David Gonzalez, a left-handed hitting OF from Clemente HS, has committed to Black Hawk College. The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Gonzalez was recently one of the top prospects at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase in October, when he ran a 6.91 60, registered an 89 mph exit velocity and was clocked at 82 mph from the outfield. Gonzalez is currently ranked No. 185 in Illinois’ 2014 class.

+ Cam Galgano, a left-handed hitting OF/C from Providence Catholic HS, has committed to Lewis University.
