The Senior Games is coming tomorrow, Tuesday, August 8th to Triton JC in River Grove, IL. The event will feature over 100 uncommitted 2018’s, almost all of them hailing from Illinois.

The event will consist of a position player showcase in the morning, followed by three sets of games in the afternoon. Each pitcher will throw one inning during game play.

35 players from last year’s event ended up committing to a college program. RHP Ryan Loutus (Barrington, 2017) was one of the biggest risers from the event. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound, right-hander, pounded the zone with a fastball that sat 84-87 mph and flashed a cutter at 78 mph. Loutos eventually committed to Washington University (MO) before earning PBR Second Team All-State honors this past spring. Loutos posted a 0.47 ERA with 92 strikeouts in 59 innings during the 2017 spring season.

Some other 2017’s who broke out at last year’s event were C Michael Bieterman (Aurora Central Catholic) a Southern Illinois commit, 2B/OF Christian Beal (Marian Catholic) a Miami (OH) commit, OF Johnny Butler (Minooka) a Heartland CC commit and LHP Josh Currier (Lincoln-Way Central) a Valparaiso commit, among many others.

A couple 2018’s to keep an eye on tomorrow are OF Nick Angel (Libertyville), RHP Jake Berger (Lockport), RHP Keegan Garcelon (Huntley), SS Jimmy Friel (Grant), 1B Jaylen Heard (Marian Catholic), 3B Diego Munoz (Mt. Carmel), LHP Ryan Palmblad (Brother Rice) C Brett Riegler (Downers Grove South) among a host of others.

Garcelon was up to 85 mph at the Top Prospect - Chicago earlier this summer.
