On Oct. 2, PBR Illinois hosted the fall’s Unsigned Senior Showcase, as it does each and every fall, at The MAX complex in McCook, Ill., where nearly 70 prospects participated. These Class of 2023 athletes remain uncommitted headed into the final offseason of their prep careers, and this group that performed at The MAX last weekend underscored the unsigned talent still remaining in Illinois.

We started our post-event coverage with the catchers yesterday and now we're moving onto the outfielders - with scouting reports on every outfielder in attendance found below. 

The fastest 60-time of the day belonged to Mitchell Hall (St. Rita) who ran a 6.51, laser-timed. Hall has a strong 6-foot-3, 210-pound frame and strength throughout. 

Another outfielder of note was left-handed hitter Joe Lukancic (Joliet West). Lukancic stays flat and direct to the baseball, flashing hard, backspin contact at times at the plate with a max exit velocity of 96 mph.

OF Patrick Hayes (Mount Carmel) is a 6-foot-1, 165-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder who just missed the top-five. Hayes put up a solid overall stat line; 7.10 60, 82 mph from the outfield and a peak exit velocity of 97 mph and ‘348 max distance off the bat. 

OF Alijah Rainey (Homewood-Flossmoor) stood out thanks to his quick, strong, right-handed bat. Rainey registered a 73.1 mph average bat speed which ranked No. 3 for the entire event. Rainey stays compact and the ball jumps off the barrel at times.

1. Spencer Geake, Glenbrook North (IL), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-2, 195-pounds.
Hit: LHH. Balanced setup, knee-knocks into a long stride, fluid load. Advanced hand and bat speed. Short and direct to the ball. Hard, lifted contact to both gaps.
Power: 99 max exit velocity, averaged 87.9 mph. 346’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 88 mph. Long, quick arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Gets behind the baseball, clean release.
Run: 6.94 runner in the 60. 

2. Joseph Greene, Hammond Central (IN), 2023
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 6-0, 170-pounds.
Hit: LHH. Balanced setup, smooth load with a simple/short stride.  Easy athletic swing, fluid rhythm and controlled finish. Easy bat speed, ball jumps off the barrel and consistent hard contact to the pull-side gap.
Power: 89 max exit velocity, averaged 83.6 mph. 300’ max distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 86 mph. Loose, clean arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Long, quick strides, athletic mover, proper routes and plays through.
Run: 6.95 runner in the 60. 

3. Christian Seminaro, Mundelein (IL), 2023
Positional Profile: OF
Body: 6-1, 175-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Narrow, crouched setup, fluid load with a long stride.  Athletic swing, repeats, quick hands, creates bat speed, pull-side tendencies.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 90.8 mph. 211’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 88 mph. Short arm action, high 3/4 slot, plays easy.
Defense: Quick, athletic feet, gains ground through release, steady hands.

4. Luke Bafia, Benet Academy (IL), 2023

Body: 6-1, 180-pounds.
